According to our motion sensor for smart lights expert
The Philips Hue Motion Sensor switches on your Philips Hue lamps when you walk past the sensor. You can connect the sensor to the Hue bridge via the Hue app. Because the sensor runs on 2 AAA batteries, you won't need a socket anymore. You can place it on a shelve or table, or you can mount it to the wall by using the included screw. The lamps will automatically switch on when you walk past the sensor. That's useful for in the bathroom, basement, or garage, for example. The light will also automatically switch off again once the sensor no longer detects movement.

Functionality
Would like to use this Philips Hue Sensor in combination with my Apple Homekit furnished house. Unfortunately, Homekit is not natively supported by this sensor, which means that only Philips Hue lamps can be controlled with it.
However, I was able to solve this using a Raspberry Pi on which I installed Homebridge with Hue Bridge. This will detect the sensor in the Home app and you can link it to Homekit scenes. For the more advanced time schedules, I ended up using the Eve app because the Home app doesn't offer these options (yet). A bit cumbersome, but in the end it works like a charm :-)

Installing this motion sensor is a piece of cake.
Good integration with the app: a different scene can easily be set for each room, depending on the time, the incidence of light and the movement.
Thanks to the sensor, I also no longer have to use my smartphone to switch lights on and off.
Finally, I like that the lights go off automatically after my presence.
In summary: I have the impression that my “smart lights” have become a lot smarter.
Only downside: the sensitivity “to” the sensor is less than for “left-right” movements.
