According to our camera microphone expert
Thanks to the integrated shock mount, the camera won't vibrate or produce mechanical sounds.
The camera's connection cable is too short to use the microphone in combination with a boom pole.
A 9-volt battery isn't included.
The Rode Stereo Videomic PRO Rycote is a compact stereo microphone with an integrated shock mount. Thanks to this shock mount, the microphone is separated from the camera, so it doesn't record any vibrations or mechanical sounds from the camera. Unwanted external low tones are removed by the high pass filter, so you can easily interview someone on the street or in a room with air conditioning. Attach the microphone to a hot shoe and connect it to the camera with the 3.5mm jack. With a 9-volt battery, you can record up to 100 hours of sound.
This microphone works fine on my Nikon photo/video camera. Excellent filtering of wind noise, but the sensitivity can also be set properly. A bit extra strong for a conversation from someone a bit further away, or weaken a bit at concerts or fireworks. With a dead kitten I didn't even have to filter out the wind noises anymore, which makes the sound fuller.
