According to our projector expert
With the integrated media player, you can project media directly from a USB flash drive.
With the integrated tuner, you can watch analog TV.
You can hear the projector in a silent room.
Due to the low light output, the image is only visible in very dark rooms.
Do you want to view photos, videos, or simple presentations without placing high demands on image quality? Take a look at the Salora 58BHD2500. This budget projector has an integrated media player. This means that it can display images from a USB flash drive on the screen. This is useful if you don't want to connect peripherals such as a Blu-ray player. Note: due to the low light output, images look darker than they really are. Because the images are less clear in a brightly-lit room, you must first close the curtains before using the projector.
I bought this beamer in January 2016. At the moment there are no reviews on Coolblue or on other sites. The specs looked good, but this is of course always a matter of waiting.
I deliberately chose an LED projector. This is because the LEDs have a much longer lifespan than, for example, a DLP or LCD beamer. The maximum lifespan of this Salora beamer is 50,000 light hours, which is quite a number compared to other projectors. You also have to take into account that when your lamp breaks you have to replace it and these also cost a nice penny.
The beamer has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (more than HD). Of course, this depends on which device you connect to it. If you want to achieve this resolution, you must also have a laptop/PC that has this resolution.
Thanks to the 2500 ANSI lumens, you can also project well during the day in a lit room. I personally still opt for projecting in a dark room so that you get more of a cinema experience.
Yes, I say cinema experience. I have a projection screen with a width of 2.5 meters. The projector is at a distance of 3.7m. At this size and distance I can still project very sharply (both with a PS3 and Macbook Pro). When I connect my Macbook Pro and move the projector a little further, I start to notice a loss of quality. Especially in the text.
The contrast ratio is only 1500:1 (i.e. there are 1500 different values between the darkest and lightest projectable point). This is a reasonable contrast. More should be more it is certainly doable!
The noise level of this projector is 25dB (a normal conversation is around 32-35dB). These 25dB are audible, but this is not disturbing at all when you are gaming or enjoying a movie.
According to the Coolblue site, the aspect ratio is 16:9 (especially for films, TV, games ..) but 4:3 is also possible (think of PPT presentations).
Because the screen can be tilted 15°, you can also easily install this projector on the ceiling. When it is placed on a table, you can also 'push' the front of the projector up a few cm by means of a small foot that extends.
All in all, definitely a projector that is worth its money!

This is the first projector I buy. Still have to learn to work with casting (I use a Chromecast), via HDMI cable and laptop it also works. In terms of sound, I connect the device to a regular hi-fi system, which means excellent sound (the speakers in the beamer itself are small and therefore quite "irony" in sound) and you notice the rather strong sound of the fan less.

LED projector purchased with 2500 ANSI lumens. Compared to 'traditional' beamers with identical ANSI lumens, this brightness is much less. Can only be used with shutters down.
