According to our hedge trimmer expert
You can also trim close to the ground thanks to the impact protection.
Thanks to the electric propulsion, you enjoy a continuous power supply.
The hedge trimmer has an extra handle for good grip.
You always need an extension cord.
Use the Gardena ComfortCut 550/50 with a knife length of 50 centimeters for cutting both smaller and medium-sized hedges. The 550 watt motor is powerful enough to effortlessly cut branches up to a thickness of 27 millimeters. That way your beech hedge or hawthorn will be neatly trimmed again in no time. The weight of the ComfortCut 550/50 is well distributed so that, in combination with the extra ergonomic handle, you can also work in the garden for a long time. Finally, the blade guard at the end of the blade is protected against kickback when pruning close to the ground.
I am a mechanic and pay a lot of attention to quality. Well, that's fine with this machine. It has a good finish, is powerful, a bit heavy, but that is also necessary with this quality. I can tell you all about it but it is simply a very good investment. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews online.

As a “Gardena fan” (pretty much everything I have is from Gardena) I am very disappointed with this hedge trimmer. Bought 2 years and 1 month ago, and that entire period only cut about 60 meters of hedge in total, which also went very well, but yesterday a faltering switch with some sparks at the engine and end of story... By now it is clear that there was a 2 year warranty on it and therefore broke down a month "too late". Warranty periods simply have an end so I can still accept that, but so quickly with so little use and then already broken, especially before Gardena, is not Ok. Another attempt was made to repair it myself, but both the internal switch (oh what a fragile thing) and the motor had given up the ghost, mechanical part of course in new condition and also looks solidly constructed) Unfortunately, so not recommended as far as I'm concerned, will going to buy a new one and will probably skip Gardena for a while.
