According to our smoke detector expert
You'll receive notifications of fire hazards via the TaHoma app if you connect the smoke detector to a base station.
The smoke detector works on batteries, so it can be placed wirelessly and anywhere.
You can link multiple smoke detectors together so that they all go off when 1 detector detects smoke.
The smoke detector only detects smoke, not carbon monoxide gas or heat.
Without a base station, you can't use the smart functions of the smoke detector.
The Somfy Smart Smoke Detector is suitable for the Somfy TaHoma box. You can place the smoke detector anywhere you want on the ceiling in your home. Connect the detector to the TaHoma box and you'll receive an SMS, push notification, or email via the TaHoma app (iOS and Android) right away. In case of detection, you hear a 85dB audio signal. You can't miss it.
This smoke detector only seems really interesting to me if you have a Tahoma box. And I already had that for my somfy sun protection. Further comments assume that you have such a box!
No IFTTT is a minus. Maybe it will come. Push and email notification has had some difficulties: enable smart programs + create smart program + don't forget to enable that program.
SMS pack purchased via somfy website and enabled in that smart program for notification. So some searching, but now I get all 3 notifications on my mobile :-)
I haven't been able to test the independent interconnection between the detectors yet because I only have one.

The somfy smoke detector has a mark that it can be replaced at B.V. battery change easy (how simple can it be). With my previous smoke detectors this was missing and that gives me some fiddling with putting them back.
