According to our filter coffee machine expert
Thanks to the Boil and Brew system, you can make extra hot coffee with a full flavor.
With the volume marking, you can decide how many cups of coffee you want to make before you start.
The warming rack keeps the coffee at the right temperature for 30 minutes.
With a height of 51cm, you can't easily place it under a kitchen cabinet.
The Philips Cafe Gourmet HD5408/20 Black has a Boil and Brew system. This allows you to brew extra hot coffee with a full flavor. The water is brought to the boil before the coffee-making process. The glass water tank has a 1L capacity, which you can refill with with water from the top. With the useful volume marking, you can easily decide how many cups of coffee you want to make. Do you want to make an entire pot? It's ready for you within 10 minutes. Leave the pot on the heating plate to keep the coffee warm for longer. That's useful, because the coffee will be ready when your guests arrive. Thanks to the tall and narrow size of the filter machine, it takes up little space on your countertop. It's no problem if you forgot to turn off the Cafe Gourmet because of all your guests, since it switches off automatically after 30 minutes.

I've had this device (Philips Gourmet) for 6 years now and I think it's time for a review. First of all, it still works fine after 6 years. We use it several times a week. The water boiling process is fun to watch after it falls through the filter. Filter coffee may be a bit old-fashioned, but you have all the freedom to make coffee however you want. the coffee is delicious with the right filters and right filter coffee. A disadvantage is that the appliance switches off fairly quickly, and the steam during cooking comes backwards into the appliance, which can damage the wall (so move it far from the wall when using it).

The 2 defects revealed themselves after 1 month. Philips refused to exchange. Was able to send it for repair and then had to miss the device for weeks. Bought directly through Philips site.
