According to our External SSD expert
Thanks to the USB 3.1 generation 2 connector, 10Gbps allows you to transfer data 2 times faster than USB 3.0.
The hardware encryption with password protection protects your drive against data theft.
This external SSD is shockproof up to a drop of 2 meters.
Files can be transferred immediately, but do you use Time Machine? In that case, the drive should be formatted for Mac first.
The WD My Passport SSD 256GB is a compact, external SSD for on the go. With a speed of 540MB/s, you'll rapidly transfer your HD movie material or large collections of high-resolution images and pictures within about 10 seconds to the drive. The drive has a professional look to it, thanks to the half-glossy, half-matte casing. The hardware-base 256-bit AES encryption protects the SSD against online theft, and it protects sensitive material. The WD My Passport SSD is shockproof up to a fall of about 2 meters. Your files are still safe, even if the drive falls off a table. The SSD has a USB-C connector with USB 3.1 support, so you'll enjoy the fastest USB speed on modern devices. If you don't have USB-C yet, simply connect via USB-A using the included adapter. It also works directly from the box with Windows and Mac. You'll automatically make a back-up thanks to the WD software when you connect the external SSD.
