According to our alarm system expert
When the alarm system is triggered, you'll receive a notification on your smartphone.
You can easily operate the alarm system with the app on your smartphone.
The starter kit doesn't include an IP camera to instantly see what's happening at home.
You need a stable WiFi network to make optimal use of the alarm system.
Secure your home with the Somfy Protect Home Alarm. The set consists of a base station, 3 magnetic contacts, 2 remote controls, a motion sensor, and a siren. You can place the magnetic contact next to windows and doors and position the motion sensor in a logical spot in the room you want to secure. The motion sensor won't detect pets weighing up to 25kg, which is useful if you have a dog or cat. When the magnetic contacts or the sensor detect something, you'll receive a notification in the app on your smartphone (iOS and Android), so you'll be up to date with what's happening no matter where you are. A 90-decibel audio signal will be triggered on site. You can expand the alarm system to include up to 50 sensors to secure your home completely.

Bought this product because a neighbor was broken into. Ultimately opted for this alarm because it takes pets into account. Unfortunately, this works differently in practice. False alarms several times because the cats walked past the separate camera (also Somfy) and past the motion sensor. Consulted Somfy Netherlands and they reported very curtly: "Well, it's a movement, we can't do anything about that".
Eventually the motion detector was positioned differently after a lot of trying and got a different camera via Coolblue. Problem is now solved.

Nice and all, but for this price it should work flawlessly. The 'intellitag' does not detect that the sliding window is being slid open, nor does it detect vibrations such as on the frame. Most thieves don't pound on a window to open it. In my opinion, the opening of a sliding window can never be detected without the principle of a real magnetic contact consisting of two parts. Our sliding window rolls very lightly without any vibration... Then just wait for Nest Secure

The system works well, but the installation is not that easy (especially when it comes to the IntelliTags). Calibrating the latter is not easy, and certainly in an old house where the doors are a bit wobbly, this is quite a task. The system does look nice, it won't disturb your living room. The app also works very well, and you also get a clear message when the alarm goes off. It also does what it promises with pets and our cat can hop around freely without sounding the alarm. The price is on the high side, but all in all worth it.
