According to our WiFi speaker expert
Connect multiple Sonos speakers together for a multi-room setup or a home cinema.
Trueplay adjusts the sound of your speaker to the acoustics of your room.
With the integrated Google Assistant, you can control the speaker via voice commands.
The speakers don't support Bluetooth.
With the Sono One Gen2, you can listen to your favorite music wirelessly. Connect the speaker to the power grid and connect it to your smartphone or tablet via WiFi. Connect multiple Sonos speakers to each other via the WiFi connection, spread them through your home, and control them via the built-in speech assistant or via the Sonos app. That way, you can listen to the same or a different song in every room. You can also use the Google Assistant for questions about the weather, your personal calendar, or current traffic jams. You can control the speaker and gain access to your stored music, internet radio, or playlists from streaming services via the app. Prefer to keep your smartphone in your pocket? Use the touch controls. With these, you can pause the music, skip a song, or control the volume.

My first WiFi speaker. I couldn't get behind the Sonos trend, and the One certainly hasn't disappointed me yet. The speaker is on my bedside table in my bedroom and is an instant addition to my interior. And there is a lot of sound from that small device. Of course I couldn't wait to test the volume to the max. The neighbors weren't happy about that. I think the only pity is that you cannot easily move the speaker from room to room. I would prefer to take the One everywhere with me, but that is the disadvantage of a WiFi speaker. Because there is no battery in it, it does not work without power.
The sound is powerful and full When I put on my music, I am assured of a beautiful sound. A lot of power comes out of the small device, including low bass tones. The volume reaches a mighty high level and whatever song I put on, it sounds nice to the ears.
The installation was so beep The quick start guide took me right through the installation. I download the Sonos app and from there it pretty much speaks for itself. A feature that I really like is True Play. Like a man possessed, I walk across the room to adjust the sound to my listening position. But it certainly delivers a good result.
Multiroom via app There is a Sonos Beam in the living room. In the Sonos app I click them both if I want to listen to multiroom. For example, I walk from the living room to the bedroom while cleaning up without having to carry a speaker or the music getting softer.
Smarter home thanks to Google Assistant Where I used to read the AD app or the newspaper, I now just ask in the morning: 'Hey Google, what's the news?' and the voice reads me all the latest updates. She also plays music for me, tells me if I should bring my umbrella or sings me a song. Do I have to ask nicely?

I like this one better than the Play:1 because it has one color (grill and housing). For now (November 2017) the differences compared to the Play:1 are not that big outside the touch control panel. New functions will be available in a few months: voice assistant and AirPlay2 (Apple) only then will the difference be noticeable.

Installation What a convenience! The Sonos speakers are immediately found and linked. An update for the latest software was immediately indicated. Installation via the Sonos app was quick and very easy. Anyone can do that.
Sound The sound that comes out of the 'small' speakers is really very good. If you place these speakers in a living room in combination with a soundbar, you will not be short of anything. Sound in 5.1 sounds really clear, but Dolby Atmos (via the television/Netflix) sounds much better. Of course you must have a soundbar with it. Playback via Spotify also gives a full and beautiful sound.
You have the choice to have the speakers play in stereo if it is for music. You can even adjust the volume.
Sonos App The Sonos app offers many possibilities. First of all, the installation is easy with the app, but you can also have the speakers adjusted by the Trueplay function (via Apple phone). It will cost you a minute, but then the Sonos App will calculate how the speakers give the best sound in your environment. In the Sonos app you can also create a link with, for example, a Spotify account. This allows you to easily and quickly play playlists and albums.
voice control I have tested the voice control and it works fine. If you like this sort of thing then it's very easy. For example, by saying Google Play Coldplay, it will play the Coldplay list.
