According to our car radio expert
The Kenwood KDC-X7200DAB is a versatile music system for your car. This car radio allows you to receive the digital DAB+ signal, which gives you access to extra stations and a clear sound. It's just as if you're listening to a CD. Want to listen to your own music instead? It's possible to connect a smartphone to the radio via Bluetooth. That way, you can wirelessly stream your music to the speakers. If you receive a call while driving, you can answer with one push of a button. The included microphone allows you to call hands-free.

I have tried several car radios in a short time. This Kenwood KDV-X7200 DAB gives a nice clear sound, audibly better than the competition. DAB reception is perfect, while others sometimes fall back on FM reception or just stop when the reception drops. I am happy with two USB connections on the back so that there is no permanent need for a cable in the front. But I do wish that option was there. This model does not have a USB on the front. I play music from my iphone. I also noticed that sometimes the music whines for a while. After some research, it turned out to happen every 32 seconds. The predecessor of this device (KDC-7100DAB) had that too, for which I sent it back. In the end, after trying other car radios, I gave in to this model, because it is otherwise a superior device. That 'yelp' does not occur when streaming via bluetooth, and that also sounds very good. And I hope that Kenwood might fix this problem in a future firmware update. The car radio is easy to operate. It doesn't feel very robust, but I don't plan on being rough with it either, so that won't be a problem. The setting options are very extensive, where I especially like the DTA settings, so that the stereo image is good by measuring the distance between me and the speakers. I turn off many other functions. The equalizer is extensive, but not graphically. So you're doing quite a bit of clicking and turning before you've finished all the tapes. It is therefore better not to do that while driving. Furthermore, the built-in car kit is also good and without echo. That was not always the case with the other car radios.

Great product! I bought this radio because of the 4 volt pre-output, coupled with amplifiers this gives a very good sound, audio has a lot of settings and it takes a while to adjust everything in balance, but then you also have something. Super sound DAB+ gives a nice clear sound.
It takes a while to find all the settings in the menu, which can sometimes be confusing.

I bought this car radio for two reasons:
the quality of analog radio got worse and worse in my experience. That's why I thought it was time to switch to DAB+
My old car stereo didn't have Bluetooth so I couldn't stream the music through my phone.
I was already warned by my installer that DAB+ occasionally does not work if you are in the vicinity of 4G masts. I live in the city and indeed in the city the volume fluctuated very often and occasionally it was even 'No Signal'. For that reason, I decided to stream music from my phone via Bluetooth. To give DAB+ a chance, I wore DAB+ all the time during my commute (Utrecht - The Hague). Well it was to cry. Directly from Utrecht there was no signal anymore. Had 'No Signal' on the display for the entire 60 km. Only near The Hague some signal again, but then very bad and often disappearing. What a huge disappointment. For several years now you have heard advertisements on the radio about how fantastic DAB+ is. Well the truth is it's really really bad. You do not have to buy this car radio for DAB+. The other functionalities are fine. music and calling via Bluetooth, for example.
