According to our gaming headset expert
Virtual Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound produces a spatial audio, so you can hear exactly where your opponents are coming from.
This headset is wireless, so you can sit up to 12 meters from your TV and no longer need to be attached to your controller.
With a full battery charge, this wireless headset lasts up to 16 hours.
Due to the lack of an optical port on the PS5, virtual surround sound doesn't work on the PlayStation 5.
This headset doesn't work on the PlayStation 4 Slim, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S, and it works less well on the PC.
With the Razer Thresher gaming headset, you have wireless virtual surround sound on your PS5 and PS4. This headset has Dolby Headphones 7.1 virtual surround sound, so you can also hear exactly where opponents are coming from on your console. In addition, this headset also works on the PS5, but without virtual surround sound. For the best connection, connect the base station to the optical port of your PS4 Pro or motherboard. The base station also serves as a stand when you're not using the headset and offers up to 12 meters of range without lag. The frame is lightweight and the thick ear cups provide a comfortable fit, even for people wearing glasses. Constant charging isn't necessary, because the headset will work up to 16 hours on a single charge.

Today I had the opportunity to discover the razer Thresher 7.1. I own several headphones for audio and gaming, among other things.
I would like to explain this product properly.
The razer thresher 7.1 is a good product, but it does have a few flaws.
For now, these headphones feel good. The quality is excellent and especially the finish is well put together. This down to the smallest detail! When you have the razer on your head, it is very comfortable. The pillows are beautifully soft and will adapt to the shape of your head. They also close neatly and you hear much less from your environment than for example the stealth 600 from Turtle Beach.
The sound is good. Volume present more than necessary and I especially find it a comfortable sound. No violent booming basses and the mids and highs are well present. In short .... you can hear the difference between your weapon etc in COD4 . so far fine.
However, do you want to make full use of the 7.1? then you must have ps4 with optical output. This is not stated on the packaging and is misleading. There is a reason for this. If you have an optical output on your PS4, you can plug it into the USB dongle via the supplied cable and with that you create a bypass that really brings the virtual dolby to life. When you activate surround mode, it comes to life even more... Don't worry if you don't have an optical output.
Installation is very easy.
Just plug in the USB dongle in the PS4 and turn on the headphones and you're ready to go! However, when you activate Virtual Sound without the optical cable, you get a blur of sound... especially hollow sounding and it doesn't add up. If you leave it on standard, the dongle will do its job well. Despite the fact that it is virtually not on surround, the dongle does its job well. You hear neatly left, right, rear, front ... fine. Here the razer continues to behave nicely. It can be compared to the turtle stealth 600. fine nothing wrong with that.
What is the price worth then?
Still, the finish is perfect.
The 2.6 GHz doesn't give audio lag in your game (PS4 performs better than the Turtle Beach 600?
Longer battery life
Sound is good (better with optical output)
Comfortable.
Durable.

Nice design and a sturdy product. No irritation at all during long game sessions. There are also almost no ambient sounds and the surround sound sounds good. In short, a must for any gamer.
