Microphone noise suppression |
According to our gaming headset expert
With this wireless headset, you're not bothered by cables during gaming.
With a 30-hour battery life, you can game for hours without needing to charge in the meantime.
The microphone of this headset has noise suppression, so you can always communicate without background noises.
Since stereo sound isn't spacious, it's less easy to hear where your opponents are coming from.
We already knew that HyperX makes good headsets, but with the HyperX Cloud Flight Wireless Gaming Headset for PC, PS5, and PS4, the HyperX exceeds all expectations again. The headset is very comfortable. The thick fake leather ear cups close off well, so you won't notice a lot of what's going on outside. That's good, because both games and music sound exactly like they're supposed to. The plastic frame is sturdy and of high-quality, with the adjustable headband and 90-degrees tiltable hinges that make the headset flexible and comfortable. You also don't have to complain about the battery, because if you turn off the lighting in the software, the headset can last longer than you in 1 session: about 30 hours. Aren't you listening? The headset will go to standby by itself.
Battery life:
With lighting: 13 hours

I am a fanatic PUBG player and have had the headset for a little over a month now. I searched the internet for a long time to find out which headsets were good. I have therefore decided to compare 2 headsets: the Steelseries Arctis 7 and this HyperX Cloud Flight.
The biggest superficial difference between the Cloud Flight and a number of other headsets is the lack of software. Where the Steelseries comes with an equalizer to adjust the sound as much as possible, to see how much battery is left and to adjust firmware, the HyperX has no software.
My personal conclusion: The HyperX is so good out of the box that an equalizer is unnecessary. Even with the software I couldn't configure the Steelseries in a way that came close to the Cloud Flight.
I was also worried that the lack of 7.1 would be an issue. I myself had never owned a 7.1 headset before. Also here is my personal conclusion: 7.1 you just don't miss it. All audio cues such as footsteps and gunfire are clear. You know exactly where the sound in the game comes from. Turning on 7.1 mode on the Steelseries made everything sound like I was playing in a bathroom.
The lack of software does mean that there is no way to check how much battery is left. You will hear a sound in the headset when there are X number of hours left. I've decided to take that for granted because the headset is simply very good.

After having used countless headsets such as brands such as Logitech and Razor and the hyperx cloud II, I have to say that Hyperx price quality is very good. The hyperX cloud II was already a great headset. Good sound and a not really good mic. This hyperx cloud flight is very similar to this. Slightly more plastic so it's not too heavy. Better mic and sound almost the same. I definitely recommend this one, although I think it's just a bit too expensive. Just under 150 euros it would give an 8.5 instead of an 8 now.

It is a good quality headset. Once you've taken it out of the box, it's plug & play. Due to the pleasant fit, no complaints even after prolonged use.
