According to our gaming headset expert
The included DAC amplifier converts the digital signal to analog and amplifies it, so you have a better dynamic range and you can distinguish better between your instruments.
The High res drivers with DTS Headphone:X 2.0 surround sound produce spatial audio, so you can hear exactly where your opponents are coming from.
Thanks to the lightweight frame and soft, breathing AirWeave ear cushions, you won't be bothered by sore ears as quickly during long gaming sessions.
This Arctis Pro isn't suitable for Xbox gaming or the PS4 Slim.
The cables of this headset are short, so you have to sit close to your PC or console when you use the headset.
With the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Gaming Headset + DAC with high-resolution drivers, you can enjoy gaming all day, every day. The sound of your games, music, and entertainment is produced by the professional high-resolution drivers, which clearly play the sound from the low, middle, and high spectrum. Thanks to the included DAC/Amplifier, this quality is also guaranteed on the PS4, as it basically ensures a better dynamic range and it allows you to manually adjust the equalizer settings, so you can distinguish separate sounds better. The Pro also features DTS HeadPhone X 2.0 surround sound, so you can rely on your hearing in tactical shooters as well. You'll stay comfortable during long gaming sessions, thanks to the lightweight frame with breathing AirWeave ear cushions.

I bought this product as a Second Chance and I am very satisfied with it.
First of all, it doesn't look like the "gaming" headset we're used to from other brands with sharp, futuristic angles and lighting. The shapes are neutral and can therefore be taken outside as a headset for an Ipod, but it comes into its own on your phone since the microphone actually works for making phone calls.
The GameDac that comes with this model I had to check with an acquaintance who is in the top class audio equipment and he also mentioned that the ESS Saber 9018 is one of the top DACs for the consumer market which is only topped by the Pro "audiophile". " potato chips.
Connecting was even easier than expected, drivers did not actually have to be installed and the headset (with DAC) already worked out of the box. You do have to set your windows sound settings to 24-bit 96Khz to get the most out of the Hi-Res Audio setting.
After I connected the set to my PC via the USB cable, I also connected the optical cable to my PS4. (Of course the USB connection provides the power supply)
Because I have the USB connection on my PS and optical cable on the PS4 I can freely switch between "input", but when I put the input on PS4 I can use the audio MIX setting to switch between PS4 and PC "blend" where I want to have the audio of both at the same level, or hear one of the 2 sources in the foreground and the other in the background (or completely off). Perfect setup if you want to quickly switch between PC and PS4.
The microphone is retractable into the left judgment, it also features a customizable LED that changes color when the mute button on the back of the earcup is turned on or off. under that knob is also a separate volume control. At the time of writing I keep the volume on the DAC at -10 (minimum is "infinite" which is just below -55 and max is 0) and I keep the volume control on the headset itself but this sometimes still hurts to my ears, so I think I'll eventually get to -15 to -20 to protect my hearing a bit.
Also included is a "microphone windscreen" which is a nicer word for a foam rubber sleeve that fits around the Mic, so that less noise comes through when you breathe on it, for example. The LED colors are less noticeable but are still clearly visible.
All in all, I'm really excited about this headset.

I have 3 headsets, music+gaming with 100% noisered.+ This one. This one is top notch for all sorts of things. I can almost say that this one replaces my other 2. A real winner!

great headphones from Steelseries. maybe a bit on the expensive side, but otherwise great. the sound is great, which I can't say enough about many gaming headsets in this price range.
