According to our external hard drive HDD expert
Thanks to USB 3.0, the drive works up to ten times faster than with USB 2.0.
This external hard drive works with Windows straight out of the box.
The drive doesn't have hardware encryption with password security.
The hard drive isn't powered via the USB cable, but via an extra power cable.
The WD Elements Desktop 6TB is a 3.5-inch external hard drive for on your desk. Thanks to plug and play, the drive works as soon as you connect it to your Windows desktop computer. This allows you to instantly make a backup of your entire PC without installation, or to transfer your movie collection or vacation photos so that they're safely stored. Transfer your data via the included USB 3.0 cable.
