According to our Motorcycle navigation system expert
Thanks to the points of interest function, you can discover interesting places, toilets, restaurants, and other facilities along your route.
It's possible to download extra maps from other countries.
You can easily use the motorcycle navigation for a longer time in your car with the included car charger.
Due to the glossy screen, it's less easy to see your route in the bright sun.
With a 4-hour battery life at most, this navigation system is less suitable for long rides.
The Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S Europe is a motorcycle navigation system that gets you from A to B quickly throughout Europe, but also offers challenging and adventurous routes. You link the device to your smartphone, allowing you to easily play music, read messages, and make hands-free calls. Thanks to Easy Route Sharing, you can follow great routes shared by other users, and share your own adventures too. The Zumo 396 has built-in WiFi, so you don't need a computer to update the software, maps, and POIs. The navigation system warns you about sharp turns, railway crossings, and speed cameras. In case of an accident, it sends a message to a contact set by you. You can also use the glossy 4.3-inch screen with your gloves on without any problems. You can also use it in the car, thanks to the extra car mount.
The product is certainly pleasing, now that the device has been driven for several hundred kilometers on the tourist stand. It is a matter of entering a random address in an area you would like to see and the navigation provides a nice route in that direction.
Updating over Wi-Fi is perfect, but ensure that the navigation has sufficient power, the maps seem fine for the time being.
System is attached to the motor with the supplied holder and power cable and fits like a house (do have a motor-specific bracket with the holder on it), ideal that the navigation is immediately supplied with power from the motor and therefore switches on as soon as you start the motor. starts and goes off as soon as you turn off the engine.
