The decision for me was made by the good reviews. Then you have to consider the price quality, and you certainly won't regret it. So you really know what you're buying with a solid price and heaviness of the Extreme.

Who would have thought what the industrial revolution would bring us today. The JBL Xtreme 2 is the result of the continuous will to innovate. Edison could not have foreseen in his wildest dreams that with the invention of the phonograph in 1877 he would set in motion a chain reaction that would enable us in 2020 to listen to Dua Lipa continuously for up to 16 hours on the beach while enjoying a cold chatter.
The JBL Xtreme 2 responds to the needs of the millennial and this is clearly reflected in the ease of use, robustness, battery life and other features of this portable speaker.
For starters, the JBL Xtreme 2 comes with a high degree of ease of use, despite the speaker's size. For example, the speaker comes with a detachable carrying strap and you can connect multiple JBL speakers together thanks to JBL Connect. A nice extra if you have been able to convince friends, roommates or family to also purchase a JBL speaker. The speaker also fits perfectly in your backpack along with other items that should not be missing during a day at the beach.
The battery life of this speaker alone would be a good motive to purchase the JBL Xtreme 2. JBL keeps its promise in terms of battery life and from my own experience I can conclude that the speaker does indeed last a very long time. Even so long that your smartphone probably needs to be charged before your speaker. But that's no problem either, since the JBL Xtreme 2 can also be used as a power bank, so you can provide your phone with some extra percentages.
The robustness also meets the standard of the riotous millennial. So you can safely drop the speaker without feeling guilty afterwards, and thanks to the IPX7 waterproofing, the design is such that grains of sand and other potential intruders remain outside the door.
Also not unimportant is the sound quality of the speaker. The mids and highs perform above expectations, even at a loud volume. The bass is also present, but in my opinion somewhat modest when you look at the size of this unit. But if you look at the degree of ease of use, the good battery life and the robustness of the speaker, then this is something I can live with.
If you find yourself in a situation where fun has no time but that of your neighbors does, there is a handy feature with which you can further mute the low. You activate this so-called 'low frequency mode' by holding down the bluetooth button and volume low button for 10 seconds. If your neighbors are already working, repeat the above to switch off the low frequency mode again.

The green color is on point. For the size, the speaker sounds very chill. There is enough bass, (modern) hip-hop sounds great on this speaker, but every kind of music sounds solid. The sub (very low bass) is missing, which is to be expected from a speaker of this size. I'm a fan of the midrange. I also like that there isn't too much treble because I can turn up the volume without it sounding annoying. The battery life is not normally good.
