According to our e-reader expert
Thanks to ComfortLight PRO, the e-reader automatically adjusts the screen backlight based on your ambient light.
You can save up to 6000 e-books on the 8GB storage.
The small size of this e-reader allows you to easily read while on the go, for example on the train.
An adapter for charging isn't included, just a cable.
This e-reader is relatively small, so it's less comfortable to read than with a larger model.
With the Kobo Clara HD E-reader, you can read your favorite books anywhere, any time of day. Thanks to Comfortlight PRO, the Kobo Clara recognizes the light around you and automatically adjusts the screen backlight accordingly. That means you can read late into the night in increasingly softer light. You won't have trouble sleeping afterwards, because the e-reader also filters blue light. You always have your favorite books at hand. The 8GB storage is large enough for 6000 books. Charging is only necessary after a few weeks. On top of that, the Kobo Clara weighs less than 170g, which is about the weight of an apple. So you can easily take the e-reader with you in your bag, backpack or suitcase.
Note: you need to create a Kobo account to use a Kobo e-reader. A protective cover isn't included, so order one separately or one of our recommended combinations and prevent damage to the fragile screen.

"Good news! Your order fits through the letterbox, so you don't have to stay at home," says Coolblue in the shipping confirmation. uhh, good news? A 130 euro e-reader that you throw through the letterbox on my stone floor? And the one that disappears in the postman's mail bag without a track & trace code? Then take emergency measures to make the fall as soft as possible: see the photo. Fortunately (because the thin mailing envelope contained hardly any material to dampen the shock) my tactics worked ;-) But next time just put such electronics in a package again please!

Because the Kobo soon freezes and you can no longer use it and the product has to be returned, I eventually chose a different ereader

I've been using the Kobo Glo HD for several years now, and the only thing missing was the 'Comfort Light' feature, which the Kobo Aura ONE released last year introduced. The Kobo Clara HD
The difference between the Glo HD and Clara HD is in the speed of the system and the lighting.
The rubber back of the Glo HD has been exchanged for a nice and good feeling hard plastic, 'perforated' so that it does not slip out of your hand.
The screen is of the same high quality, with the addition of the aforementioned Comfort Light.
Finally, there is the software. This one is quite well put together. Unlike the Kindle, Kobo reads everything from PDF to ePub to CBZ. It is also possible to easily transfer books that were not purchased through Kobo's own e-store onto the device. It works just like a USB stick: connect the e-reader to your computer, and copy the file to the drive.
There is also software developed by third parties to use instead of Kobo's software (koreader), but it may take a while before this is available on the Clara.
