According to our compact camera expert
The 125x optical zoom allows you to clearly capture the smallest details.
Thanks to the maximum aperture of f/2.8, you can photograph at dark locations.
You can record detailed video footage in 4K quality at 30 fps.
It doesn't have a touchscreen for easy camera control.
With the Nikon COOLPIX P1000, you can capture the smallest details clearly thanks to the 125x optical zoom. You can expand the zoom range up to 250x digital zoom. That's useful when you're on a safari and want to take wildlife photos from a large distance. You can take sharp photos with the 16-megapixel camera. The lens is light-sensitive thanks to the f/2.8 aperture, so you can record detailed images in dark locations. Want to make videos? With this camera, you can do so in 4K quality at 30 fps. Shaky images are reduced thanks to image stabilization. This makes the viewfinder and monitor image more stable when you zoom in a lot. That way, you can take sharp photos manually.
Now in the house for a while and experience shows: Great photos with enough light Fewer photos in low light "Moon phase" works wonderfully well, so great for the astrologers Incredible zoom, difficult to keep track of many fast-moving subjects (eg birds), but once that works, you also have a great picture; Autofocus is really OK.

Super nice camera, I bought this because my previous camera (also a bridge camera, Nikon B700) couldn't zoom in far enough for me. I like to walk a lot and like to photograph, but I do go for convenience; so a bridge camera and no changing lenses (and carrying along). For me, this is a somewhat large/heavy camera, but if you do zoom in far, that's what you have to pay for it. I did buy a separate neck strap, one that is a bit thicker/relieving in the neck. See attached photos from further away and a close-up for what you can do with it.

The device fully meets my expectations , I take it that it is less satisfactory in low light because under normal circumstances the results are fine for such a device . Setup is easy . It is best to buy an extra battery because with frequent zooming in or out you can use it when you go out in nature.
