According to our fryer expert
With the automatic baking programs you don't have to think about the right baking temperature and time.
The odor filter largely blocks the cooking air, so that your house smells less of food.
In this hot-air fryer you prepare fries for 2 to 3 people at the same time.
With a cord length of 0.4 meters, the deep fryer needs a place close to an outlet.
You do not have to think about the correct settings with the Tefal Ultimate Fry FX2020 hot air fryer thanks to the automatic baking programs. Handy, because you immediately have the right settings for the desired baking result. With the programs you defrost dishes and bake chicken, meat or fish. You also make cakes and cakes in the airfryer. Thanks to the load capacity of 0.8 kg you can make French fries for 2 to 3 people at the same time. The airfryer switches off automatically after one hour. Great, because that way you don't waste energy unnecessarily. After use, simply clean the individual parts in the dishwasher.
A review after a few weeks of testing. What is annoying is that there are only two rubber caps under four - this makes the Tefal somewhat unstable with drawer slides in and out - they would have forgotten them in the factory. I have tried many different things in the meantime. Sweet potato is great made several times already. Also baked in with a delicious soft brownie. I only find it difficult to tailor baking paper, they should find a solution for that. Furthermore, snacks – chicken – fries, fresh or from the freezer, all excellent results. Especially if you are already used to oven stuff, it doesn't matter much. Otherwise, it is a great replacement for the deep-fat fryer, but you have to take into account that the taste is different. Especially the delicious fatty fries are a bit drier now, but then you don't eat a lot of fat, and that's exactly what this device was intended for. Did I make meatballs in it – man that's a party because they were really super crispy. Cleaning is really no problem – just be careful with the hooks in the inner basket. It is also really big enough for a family of 3. Then you really have to bake in several portions – but that also has to be done in the deep-fat fryer. I also tried some recipes from the Tefal website. In practice, the baking time is slightly disappointing – so using more time than indicated is regularly really necessary, but you have to try it yourself. All in all, a great appliance that really fits into any kitchen. If you don't have any leftovers, this is a valuable addition - the deep fryer hasn't left the shed since it came in the house.
Final conclusion for my test use: Great device that is fast and very easy to use.

The Tefal Ultimate Fry looks nice and works well too! The fries in particular taste great when prepared with the Ultimate Fry. Less fat, but still golden brown and crispy. The Tefal Ultimate Fry looks complicated, but after some research it turns out to be quite simple. So far I have only used the Tefal Ultimate Fry as an alternative to the deep fryer, but it seems that you can grill and fry in it too. The biggest advantage is the smell; normally when you go deep-frying you can still smell it in your house for 3 days, but this airfryer smells much less than the "old-fashioned" deep-fat fryer. The snacks also taste great from the air fryer. The only drawback is the price, because it is higher than that of a normal deep-fat fryer, but you quickly earn it back because you have to use less oil. Unfortunately I cannot compare this airfryer with other airfryers, because it is my first airfryer, but I am enthusiastic about this device.

Finally we have a hot air fryer at home. We had long ago said goodbye to the traditional as a step towards healthier and less fatty food. We mainly use our convection oven for snacks but wanted a slightly faster appliance without using a lot of oil. The appliance looks nice and fits in our kitchen in terms of design. The touch buttons are very handy and you can easily lose the cord at the back by wrapping it. The manual is useful because of the many pictures. It takes some getting used to with the handle and the inner pan. We have already made a number of dishes from the enclosed recipe booklet. However, it is not clear to us whether you should preheat. Sufficient oven chips fit in it and they will be nice and crispy. Nowadays there are also fries for sale with the airfryer symbol on them, but that will not differ from oven fries. The chicken legs had to go in for two laps, but that could be because we didn't use preheating. It is also recommended to use baking paper sometimes. But be careful if it is too high, the paper will burn. The salmon and spinach lasagna was delicious and plenty for the 3 of us. For a larger family, this deep fryer just doesn't seem sufficient for full main meals. Furthermore, the noodles and nasi slices came out pale. They certainly went in 3 more times. It takes getting used to and trying out in terms of preparation time. What is certainly nice is that there is so little fat involved and without intense frying air in the kitchen. Cleaning goes well and the inner pan can also be washed in the dishwasher.
