According to our access point expert
It's powered through the network cable, which means you don't need a socket.
Link the access points and manage them simultaneously from the cloud.
With the app, you can easily set up the access point with your smartphone or tablet.
To benefit from the highest speed that this access point offers, all connected devices must support 5GHz.
This access point doesn't include a network cable; have a look at our recommended combinations.
Set up a wireless network with coverage on multiple floors in your home or office with the Ubiquiti UniFi AP-AC-PRO 3-pack access points. Because the access points communicate with each other, your devices will always be connected to the strongest station. This allows you to walk around the office while video calling and it ensures your stream won't fail while moving from the living room to the bedroom. Configure the WiFi points with the help of the UniFi software. This allows you to manage all access points in your network simultaneously. You can, for example, set up multiple separate wireless networks with different rights. This way, you can access your private files, but your guests can't.

Finally something that provides good and stable WiFi in our home. Reach outside is still a bit disappointing, but that is mainly due to the roller shutters and firmly insulated cavity walls. Tonight I put a UTP to the terrace under my roof. Let's just add an AP to that. Ideal that this device is also suitable for outdoor use. I think that in order for everything to work optimally, you actually have to adapt your entire network to this brand. With managed switches etc.. I will certainly do with time, have already tried everything, powerlines extenders etc. but this product WORKS!
Before I ordered this device on Coolblue.nl I looked at the reviews of other customers and compared it with the other product reviews, glad I made the right choice! Ordered and received the next day, in the evening already WiFi coverage throughout the house! So to all the other people who have recommended this product: Thank you!

1 word: great. Used D-Link for years but never really satisfied. Now switched to Ubiquiti. If only I had done it sooner.. The difference in level with other brands is huge! As an IT consultant I now also work for a company that controls large parts of their network with Ubiquiti devices. The person responsible for this is also extremely satisfied with the brand.

This product replaces my 2012 Apple Airport Extreme. The range is much better and I clearly notice that there is less interference from surrounding routers of my neighbors (Amsterdam).
I initially ran the installation from my macbook. This went smoothly for me, but I did tweak the channels and frequency of the AP using the Wifi-Explorer app. This allows you to see on which channels your neighbors broadcast (Watch some youtube videos for more explanation). A little bit of network knowledge is required for this.
Now I have the controller software permanently running on my Synology (docker), which provides more insight into your network. You cannot get the most out of the Controller software without the Unifi Security Gateway router. Maybe I'll add that at a later stage.
Tip: if you cannot find the AP in the Unifi-Setup Wizard, use the pre-installed Unifi-Discover app. You can manually enter the Inform IP address of your laptop/server there. (eg http://192.168.1.50\:8080/inform) Then the AP understands where to look.
