According to our soundbar expert
The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Bar is a soundbar for large rooms. The soundbar has 9 built-in drivers that provide a large sound range. Connect the soundbar to your smartphone via WiFi or Bluetooth and control it via the Bowers & Wilkins app. Want to get more out of the sound? Add a Formation Bass for a fuller sound or expand the soundbar to a home cinema sound setup. For a multi-room sound setup, you connect multiple Bowers & Wilkins speakers to each other via the app. That way, you can choose your music per room.
Connect the bowers & Wilkins Formation Bar to your TV

The question is: what kind of sound are you used to? I've been listening to the same simple 5.1 set for TV and movies for 15 years. I listen to music with 2000 euro headphones. That's quite different. I want to both listen to music with good quality and watch TV. After the simple installation of the BAR, I immediately noticed the following: I miss surround, little bass, clear sound with the necessary detail, speech is clear on TV, music plays better than TV sound. The BAR can be loud and the sound remains good. Because I really miss the surround, I also bought 2 FLEX. Those things are (in themselves) really good! what a difference! I can imagine that with a BAS the whole will be even better, but I'm not sure if I'll buy that yet, the bass has already been improved with the flex added (this was already a big expense and I have to think about the neighbors). In short, if you are used to TV sound coming from your TV, the BAR is a major improvement, if you are used to surround you need at least 2 FLEX. The downside is their app. you have to click a lot back and forth and restart every time you want to adjust something. hope they improve on that soon.

Great sound in a sleek design. Still waiting for the updated software for TuneIn support, now possible via Apple Airplay but not natively like with Sonos. You can use the TV remote control to adjust the sound volume of the Bar. It doesn't work with my LG TV because of the Mute button. Maybe it will work with more recent TVs.. Looking for other TVs and probably I will switch from Sonos to Bowers. Testing for the time being.

With the current discount, a great deal for a B&W soundbar. Unfortunately, the sound is only disappointing with B&W expectations and other speakers from this brand in the house. You may get better sound in combination with the sub, but then I would recommend the zeppelin.
