According to our WiFi speaker expert
Thanks to Bluetooth and the internal battery, you can also use this Sonos speaker outdoors.
When you get home, you can connect the Move to your Sonos sound system and stream your music via WiFi.
With the integrated Google Assistant, you can control the speaker with voice commands.
The Google Assistant only works when you are connected to WiFi.
Due to the battery life of 10 hours, it lasts a little longer than other wireless speakers.
With the Sonos Move, you can stream music wirelessly at home and outdoors. The Move has properties of both a Bluetooth and a WiFi speaker. This allows you to stream music wirelessly via Bluetooth when you're in the park. When you get home, you can connect the speaker to your WiFi network. Do you already have a Sonos speaker or sound set? Via the Sonos app, you can connect the Move to the Sonos speakers you already have. Thanks to the integrated Google Assistant, you can control the speaker with voice commands. This allows you to easily switch to the next song or listen to the latest news. This speaker has an IP56 certification, so it's suitable for use on the beach. Fine dust particles and water won't damage the Move. The battery will last 10 hours if you stream via WiFi and the speaker is at half volume.
Note: Sonos products don't work via the 5GHZ network. Always make sure your WiFi is set up via the 2.4GHZ network before you buy a Sonos product.

I am really pleasantly surprised by the Sonos Move. It is a whopper of a speaker, but the design is again a picture to look at. The sound just doesn't blow me away. If I want to use it as a WiFi speaker at home, I place it in its charging station. But do I wash up or take a shower? Then I grab it by the notch and take it around the house with me. He can even take it to the park in the summer. The bluetooth support takes care of that. A downside: the speaker is 3 kilos, so that will take some lugging.
The sound is powerful The speaker is a lot bigger than, for example, the Sonos One, or another WiFi speaker. But you also notice this in the sound. In terms of sound, it just doesn't reach the level of the Play:5, but that says a lot. The low bass and high volume spread 360 degrees throughout the room. So the sound comes from all sides and it doesn't matter where it is.
Installation and pairing The installation proceeds as I am used to from Sonos. Plug in and the Sonos app leads the way. Via the same app I connect it to my Sonos Beam for an extension to my home cinema, or I connect it to my Sonos One in the bedroom for a multi-room system. I listen to all my favorite songs all over the house.
Rugged and waterproof design Believe it or not, this speaker is even more likely to make a dent in the ground if it falls off the table. So you don't have to worry that it won't take a beating. You could also safely place it in the garden next to the pool, because the speaker is waterproof. But hey, I don't have a pool.
Charge via charging station, then take it with you again You place the charging station near a socket. Within 2 hours, the Move is approximately fully charged and then it will last another 10 hours.
Voice assistant I have to admit it makes me a little lazy. “Hey Google, tell me the latest news” and “Hey Google, is it going to rain today?”. With the built-in Google Assistant, you can ask everything via voice commands and you can even control your smart home with your voice.

Wonderful product, finally a Sonos in your home that you can place just anywhere. Also outside.
If the WiFi disappears, you still have Bluetooth, even on the go. Very good sound quality, you won't be blown away but it is certainly very good.
The weight does not bother me, it just indicates that it is a very robust product, which also does not just fall over.
What I find a pity is that it is either a bluetooth speaker or a WiFi speaker. I had hoped to be able to "piggyback" with my other Sonos speakers on the bluetooth of the move (as is the case with Airplay), but that is not possible.
The price is certainly justifiable, but it is still hefty.
