According to our External SSD expert
You can transfer files at a high speed of up to 2800MB/s.
This SSD is resistant to splash water, dust, a fall from up to 3m high, and it can even survive being run over by a 2000kg car.
LaCie offers a 5-year warranty and data rescue service, so your drive remains protected from accidents.
You can only achieve the maximum transfer speed if your device has a Thunderbolt 3 port.
This SSD isn't compatible with a Thunderbolt 2 port.
The LaCie Rugged SSD Pro 1TB is a superfast portable SSD that can take a hit. Thanks to the Thunderbolt 3 connector and the built-in NVMe SSD, you can transfer files at a speed of up to 2800MB/s. You can transfer the entire contents of this 1TB SSD in less than 6 minutes. 1TB contains enough space for 100,000 photos of 10MB or 100 movies of 10GB. The robust bumper protects the SSD from splash water, dust, a pressure of up to 2 tons, and a fall from up to 3m. This is useful when you're traveling or working on a construction site, for example. If something goes wrong with your hard drive within 5 years, Seagate Rescue Service will repair it for you. This way, you won't lose your valuable photos and files. With a 6.5x9.8cm size, the Rugged SSD Pro also easily fits in your bag or inner pocket. Your data remains protected thanks to data encryption and password protection.

This is a very nice and fast disc. Initially I mainly used it to transfer video material. In addition, this disc achieves the top speed of 130 GB in one minute. An absolute record. On old (not SSD drives) from Lacie it took me 45 minutes. What I have not tested is the rigidity of the disc: the water resistance, the drop to 3 meters and the pressure. Simply because nothing happened to my disc. But I work abroad a lot and then I'm on the road and the idea that this disc can handle it all is nice. A small disadvantage is that the icon appears in black on my desktop, so it is less visible. I work a lot with large files in Avid (editing program) and even then this is a perfect disc. I still have to consolidate for Avid, but editing is lightning fast. The only drawback is that 1 TB with large files, is still quickly full. I personally enjoy working with this disc on a Mac. At my work everything is Windows configured and they couldn't get the disk to work, but that seems to me to be something that should be solved.

If you're looking for the fastest of the fastest. Search no further. Super fast and reliable. Needed for work so that's why I could justify the extremely high purchase price to myself. As soon as a larger version comes out I will order it immediately!
