According to our construction radio expert
The construction radio charges your phone while it plays.
Thanks to the stereo audio, the sound comes from both left and right.
You can connect your smartphone or USB flash drive to the construction radio and play your own music collection.
The radio isn't part of a battery platform.
DIY jobs become fun with the Makita DMR112 DAB+. Thanks to the DAB radio you can enjoy your favorite songs without interference, and you'll have good sound quality. You can listen to the radio or connect your smartphone with the Bluetooth function. Do you want to charge your phone at the same time? Use the USB port. This construction radio can use AC power or a battery (note: battery not included). The speaker is protected against dust and water. In addition, the construction radio is equipped with a light sensor and an ergonomic handle, so it's easy to move.
Some people comment that the sound sounds 'hollow' or has too much bass. The radio does indeed have a full sound and if you are not used to this, this may come across as disturbing, but for most people this is a strong point. The sound is perfect. The treble/bass is not adjustable, but you can enable DRC in the advanced options, which improves intelligibility at lower volumes.
Bluetooth and DAB+ work perfectly. Also non-stop channels available via this medium (without advertising). You must first enable Bluetooth on the radio before you can connect to your phone. Works fine. Radio can be loud enough for a small construction site.
The Makita batteries are pricey and they are not included, so the charger is not included. A power cord to connect to the mains. If you want wireless, you must have batteries. The radio does not charge the batteries. That has to be outside the device.
Met all my expectations.
