According to our thermostat expert
You can set the temperature in every room thanks to the included thermostat knobs.
The thermostat works with Google Assistant, Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and IFTTT.
With an Auto Assist subscription of € 3.99 per month, this thermostat has functions like geofencing to make it extra energy-efficient.
You can only install this smart radiator thermostat on your heating if you already have a thermostatic radiator knob, which you can recognize by the numbers 1 to 5.
You can only set Tado thermostats in full degrees, which means you can't set these thermostats to half degrees.
With the Tado Smart Thermostat V3+ smart thermostat including 2 radiator knobs, you can make your home more energy-efficient. The thermostat works with nearly all heating systems. In addition, you can set up 2 radiators separately with the included radiator thermostat. You can control the thermostat from any location via the Tado app. With the Quick Actions function, you can adjust the temperature in multiple rooms at the same time. Since the thermostat continuously stays in contact with your smartphone, it knows exactly when you're close to home, thanks to geofencing. You never heat your house unnecessarily and save a lot of money.
If you're connecting the thermostat by wire, connect the thermostat to the wiring of your current thermostat. Want to use the thermostat wirelessly? You need an expansion pack to fully connect the thermostat. These aren't included by default.
The smart radiator thermostat by Tado doesn't work with all radiator valve brands. Check which thermostat knob brand you have now.
User friendliness
Settings
Ease of assembly
First of all, Tado is not smart. It is a clock thermostat connected to the internet. The thermostat does not learn your living rhythm. The wall thermostat is a box of cheap white plastic, which will undoubtedly yellow over time. The 'display' on the wall thermostat is basically useless. The radiator thermostat has a rotating ring for setting the temperature. This ring rattles and feels anything but solid. I found the climate comfort function in the Tado app. The information shown here is available for free through numerous weather service APIs. So nothing special. The information about the indoor climate is not very telling. A combination of temperature and humidity. While CO2 is a much more important factor. Unfortunately, Tado lacks this sensor. Tado also does not have a presence sensor. That means that for it to work optimally, everyone in the house must have the App installed, including the children and the nanny. Not realistic. Finally, geofencing is behind a paywall. All in all I don't think Tado is worth the money at all and is going back.

the possibilities and compatibility with common boilers is great. You should check the compatibility of the radiator valves on the forums. size is M30, adapter available or included.

Before I made my purchase, I inquired with Tado whether the set also fits Plieger radiator valves. Plieger is not in their compatibility list. I have also added photos as described on the Tado website. I got the answer that it would fit without tools. So ordered the set from Coolblue. (very fast delivery 5 stars) But unfortunately ..... it does not fit. Tado emailed again but they say they can't offer a solution. So now I bought the set based on false information.
There are adapters for printing (3D) but Tado does not want to meet you with that. Too bad Tado doesn't offer solutions and misinformation.
Now I might just have to send the set back and look for another smart thermostat.
