These antennas are permanently mounted on the router. I don't think that's a bad thing, but it might be for someone else. I have set the router as an AiMesh point here. This was very easy to do via the Asus App that I already used with the RT-AX88U. Connect cables, power on, search for a new AiMesh router. The router was soon found, click on "set as " and in 5 minutes the router was running in the AiMesh setup here. Then took the router to the place in the house where I wanted it. (I chose to connect it wired) With Maximum Speed 2.4GHz 574Mbps and Maximum Speed 5GHz 1.201Gbps, it is certainly not the fastest and may not be the most suitable solution for “real” gamers. For me this was a great solution. With this extra AiMesh point, I now have good WiFi throughout the house and I can now also stream above 4K without any problems.
