According to our smartwatch expert
You can't only receive notifications of incoming messages, but you can also make phone calls with the watch when your phone is near.
Displays heart rate zones during your workout, so you can focus your training on improving your endurance or burning fat, for example.
Thanks to the integrated music player, you can listen to your favorite playlists via your watch.
You can't add apps to the watch yourself, like Buienradar or the NS Reisplanner.
The watch can't make contactless payments.
With the Huawei Watch GT 2 46mm, you can achieve your sports goals and stay connected to your surroundings. You can wear the leather strap during the day and the plastic one during workouts. During your run, you'll receive spoken instructions that help you reach your goal, whether you're a new runner, want to run to lose weight, or want to push yourself to the limit. The watch also indicates how effective your training is; you'll see if you're doing well or if you need to go the extra mile. The Watch GT 2 shows notifications of messages, your calendar, and more. You can also use it to make calls if it's connected to your phone or listen to music, because you can save up to 500 songs on the 2GB memory. The watch also measures your daily activities, heart rate, stress level, and sleep quality.
Note: a charger adapter isn't included. Do you want to charge the watch via a socket? If so, order a charger adapter separately
The first thing you notice right away is the battery life. That's why I ordered this watch. Now after almost 3 days of intensive use (GPS run of an hour, putting music on the watch, setting a lot, etc.) 70% battery left. Now I have chosen not to have the time in the picture continuously and not to pass on notifications from the phone, so that saves you some power. However, sleep, stress and heart measurement are on continuously. By switching functions on and off, you can more or less choose how long the battery will last.
The connection with your phone is easy and the software (Huawei Health) works fine and is in Dutch. Transferring Workouts is very fast (unlike what I was used to from Garmin).
I haven't come across any negative features yet. If I had to mention something it would be the weather information. The watch obviously needs a connection to your phone for this (no built-in WiFi), but also expect that you turn on the GPS on your phone. The watch then only gives the weather information at that moment, but I also see that when I look outside. Unfortunately, it does not provide multi-day forecasts.
With the watch you can register most workouts, but not strength sports, which my Garmin could. This one could keep up with sets and reps. Anyway, in the beginning that's nice, but after a while I didn't use it anymore.
What is most striking is the sound quality of the built-in speaker. This one is very good during calls and even while listening to music. Of course it is preferable to use headphones or earpods.
For me, 2 things were very important: battery life and the option to listen to music without a phone. The watch certainly meets this requirement.
The setting options are sufficient. You can't add apps, so in that sense the device is limited, but enough for me.
So definitely recommended for someone who is not looking for hundreds of functions or thousands of watch faces. Just a great watch with a cool look. I would always take the 46mm, then the battery life is twice as long as with the 42mm. The watch does not look super big. I have thin wrists and the watch fits just fine.
