According to our smoke detector expert
The smoke detector runs on batteries, so it's wireless and can be placed anywhere.
You can use this smoke detector for a very long time, thanks to its 10-year lifespan.
The smoke detector has a loud alarm signal of 85dB.
The smoke detector only detects smoke, not carbon monoxide gas or heat.
You can't link this smoke detector wirelessly to other smoke detectors.
With the Smartwares FSM-12400 smoke detector you'll know when there's smoke development or a fire in the house right away. The detector has an alarm of 85dB, so you can also hear the signal loud and clear in other rooms. It has a sleep and pause mode that you can use to switch it off temporarily in the event of a false alarm, for example. The built-in battery lasts up to 10 years, so you can use the FSM-12400 for a long time. When the battery is low, you will hear a short beep. This lets you know that the battery needs to be replaced. Make sure you test the smoke detector regularly with the test button, so you're always sure that it works.
After more than a year, one of the smoke detectors went off spontaneously twice, without a candle burning. After the second time I was forced to take it apart and cut the battery wire. Whether it's because of a spider or not (I think they do put on gauze here to prevent that), the inside of the detector cannot be cleaned without demolishing so from that moment you can throw it away.

Smoke detector is user-friendly in the long term due to long-lasting battery. However, mounting / installation could be made even easier by means of a magnet. Sound is adequate but could be a little louder
