I had bought a 2017 iMac 5k over the holidays as a desktop work computer for my home. I had to split the drive into an Apple section and a Windows section to run both operating systems from the WD on my iMac. I managed to get the APFS format (Mac boot format) first and then also format in NTFS (Windows), but the partitions were lost every time. In plain language: I could only install one of the operating systems on the SSD at a time and not both at the same time. So I decided to return the disc.
But then...
Before returning, I decided to try one last time and sure enough... Miraculously, I managed to install both operating systems on the SSD. My Mac suddenly started up in 20 seconds (before that was two minutes) and all apps now run smoother than ever before. Then I booted the iMac into Windows via Bootcamp. The real test came at the start of the first game and WOW! WHAT A PICTURE! The games run without a hitch and also look beautiful on the 5k display of the iMac.
