Bought the Dyson v11 Absolute Extra with high expectations. Unfortunately already after 3 weeks of use ran into many problems. My reference is a 9 year old bagless sled model.

Advantages:

The battery eliminates the need for the cord which you have to change from wall socket a number of times. You have all the freedom!
Very nice appearance, but that is of course dependent on taste.

Cons:

Where I could vacuum the entire house with the old vacuum cleaner with 1 attachment that is clicked on the hose (wooden floors everywhere, an upholstered staircase, a few rugs and a few coconut mats), I now have to change attachments (1 for the hard floors, 1 for the stairs, 1 for the mats, 1 for scratch-sensitive parts and 1 for hard-to-reach places/corners, etc.). Most attachments don't click on the Dyson so you have to put them somewhere centrally and then pick them up when you need them (and don't forget to put them back for the next turn!).
If there is a spider web or something against the ceiling, you can simply hold up the hose with my old vacuum cleaner and you're done. With the Dyson you first have to change attachments and it is more tiring due to the higher weight when holding it up.
