I think that I have a very decent headset in my hands with the JBL Quantum 100. In terms of comfort, this headset is really top notch. The stereo sound sounds fine, just don't expect top quality, as with the more expensive models. The microphone is really good, as I'm used to from a wired headset. The Quantum 100 is not very sturdy and feels a bit fragile.
Very comfortable
I take the JBL Quantum 100 out of the box and a number of things immediately stand out. The headset is super light and completely made of plastic. The rubber ear cushions feel firm and the cushion at the headband also feels soft. The buttons on the left earcup both feel a bit stiff and I notice that when I put the headset on. While adjusting the headset, I really notice that this headset is made of less sturdy materials. The headset creaks and feels very fragile. The Quantum 100 is very comfortable, I played a few hours with the headset and it was good all the time.
Great sound
I tested the JBL Quantum 100 with my Nintendo Switch and my PlayStation 5. The headset has stereo sound and I don't expect surround sound at this price. While playing Super Paper Mario and The Origami King, the music and the rest of the audio sound fine. Just don't expect deep bass or much difference in tones. On the PlayStation 5 I played Call of Duty, a game where the direction of the sound is very important. Here the stereo sound is really unfortunate. It is difficult to estimate where my opponents are walking. So I would not recommend this headset for shooters. But for the casual gamer, the JBL Quantum 100 is a good match.
Good microphone
The JBL Quantum 100 is a wired headset, which means that it has a good microphone. The microphone is loose in the box and I can easily connect it to the headset. During a game of Call of Duty I can be heard clearly, better than with the wireless headset that I normally use. It is also nice that the microphone can be completely disconnected. This way the microphone won't get in the way if you're playing a single player game, for example, where a microphone is not needed.
