According to our powerline adapter expert
With multi-room WiFi, you create one large WiFi network with a strong signal on 2 floors.
This router supports MU-MIMO, which provides a more stable wireless connection.
It's not possible to mount these stations on the wall.
With the TP-Link Deco P9, you can provide 2 floors in home with a fast and reliable WiFi connection. This set consists of 2 stations with a hybrid powerline connection. That means the stations also communicate smoothly if they're further apart. Additionally, the combination of powerline and wireless ensures a higher internet speed. Thanks to the powerful processor, you can even go online with over 25 devices at the same time, without the signal becoming less stable. Use the clear app to easily set up advanced options, such as parental control. This way, you can determine which websites your kids can visit and when they can go online.

with 2 kids at home, who want to play online games, stream a movie, listen to music in their own room. Do you need a good Wi-Fi connection, before we had the deco p9 it sometimes faltered when everyone was online at the same time, the connection upstairs and in the garden was minimal despite the fact that we had a fairly expensive Asus router. Now this has all been solved and everything works nice and fast and without hitches.
Through parent control I determine when the Kids are allowed and not allowed on the wiffi, I can also keep an eye on their surfing behavior.
The installation was really easy and ready within 20 minutes, anyone can do this.
You can easily switch off the LEDs on the stations in the app, so that you are not bothered by flickering lights at night
In short, highly recommended for someone who just wants a good fast and non-faltering Wi-Fi connection.

So you get what you pay for with this hardware. It is less expensive than the competition for a reason that it is not a complete product. If something does go wrong with the network you will have no idea what is happen as all the units in the network will disconnect all devices including the phone so that the Deco app will not connect to the router to see if it is a problem with the router or the modem. The powerline feature is completely useless as you have no way of knowing it is working or not and there is no way to test if it is working or not. I would recommend getting a Netgear, Google, or Ubiquiti Mesh router setup over TP-Link Deco units.

I've been looking for something that really works for a long time. Was first looking for the 7 but now went for the P9 with faster powerline, the extra connection. It works really well really everywhere in the house wifi now. Installation was very simple with the app. Make sure to check how your modem is set up.
