According to our External SSD expert
With a read speed of 1050MB/s and a writing speed of 1000MB/s, the T7 is almost 2 times as fast as the T5.
The T7 Touch is smaller than a business card and only as thick as a pencil.
You transfer files at 1GB per second, which means you can transfer a 4K movie in less than a minute.
This T7 doesn't have a fingerprint scanner.
The drive isn't water or dustproof.
Note: the T7 Portable doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, you need the 'Touch' version for that.
The Samsung T7 Portable SSD 2TB Red is a compact and super fast SSD which you can take everywhere. You can transfer your favorite movies and photos at 1GB/s, which is 2 times faster than the T5. As a result, a 4K movie of 50GB is on your SSD in less than a minute. This device is only 8.5cm long and weighs 58g, so you can easily put it in your pocket. Did it accidentally fall out of your pocket? No worries. Thanks to the metal exterior and fall protection up to 2m, this SSD can take a beating. The T7 works on almost any device with a USB-A or USB-C port. In addition, this external SSD is also suitable for use with an iPhone 15, a PlayStation 5, and a Xbox Series X|S.

Nice and small. Fits in a breast pocket. Be careful: if you have forgotten the password, you cannot reset it yourself. This must be done by Samsung itself or a designated company.

Handy discs, but the promised speed is not achieved, and it takes a while before the disc is recognized

Compact SSD that feels good due to the metal housing. Works on almost all equipment that supports the (formatted) file system (exFAT works on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android)
Please note: Use the supplied cables or a cable that supports USB 3 speeds. When using a non-compliant cable, the SSD can get stuck at 30MB/s speeds, this is due to the cable and not the SSD itself.
