According to our coffee grinder expert
With 30 different grind settings, you can easily configure the coarseness of the grind.
The large 350-gram bean hopper allows you to grind large quantities of coffee without having to refill the beans each time.
Thanks to the UV-resistant bean hopper, the coffee beans stay fresh for longer.
This coffee grinder is quite large.
With the SMEG CGF11BLEU Black, you get a stylish coffee grinder to grind fresh coffee beans. The machine grinds the beans at 450 RPM. You can choose from 30 different settings to grind the coffee very finely or coarsely. You can select from 2 types of espresso and 6 other types of coffee. In addition, you can set how many cups of coffee you need beans for, from 1 to 12 cups. The removeable container has a capacity up to 350g. If you don't use the machine for more than 90 seconds, it automatically turns off. After use, you can easily hand wash the bean hopper. The coffee grinder is made from 50% recycled material.
I bought this coffee grinder to use in combination with my piston machine with single-wall filter holders (non-pressurized). This device is absolutely not suitable for that, because it can't grind coffee beans far enough. The description indicates that this coffee grinder can grind the beans very finely, but "very fine" is apparently a flexible term. If you are looking for a coffee grinder for filter coffee and/or a cafetiere, then this device is an excellent choice. For making espresso I would look at other options: in the finest setting it just manages to make an acceptable espresso with a double-walled filter holder (pressurized), but if you have beans that need to be ground a little finer, then you can you quickly reach the limit of this device.
Unfortunately, I had to send the device back (which was handled very neatly by Coolblue), but that doesn't make this coffee grinder a bad choice. This one was just not suitable for my purpose and I probably should have looked into what is meant by "very fine".

I mainly use the coffee grinder to make coffee for the French press and the percolator. It is extremely suitable for that. In addition, the mill is also very quiet and the design is a feast for the eyes.
