According to our television expert
Even the smallest details of the image are clearly visible thanks to the 4K UHD resolution.
Ambilight illuminates the wall behind the TV in the colors of the image.
You can connect 3 different devices at the same time to the 3 HDMI connectors of the TV.
The basic smart platform offers fewer apps and settings than Android, so you need external devices, such as a Chromecast, to stream to your TV.
With the Philips 50PUS7805, you can stream movies and series with sharp image quality. Thanks to the 4K resolution, you can also see small details, like sand grains or insects. When you connect the TV to the Internet via WiFi, you get access to the smart TV functions. You can easily use apps like YouTube and Netflix and easily stream movies, series, and videos. You can connect 3 different devices to the TV at the same time thanks to the 3 HDMI inputs. This way, you don't have to crawl behind the TV to change cables often. The Ambilight technique shines light on the wall behind the TV in the color of the image. This is easier on the eyes and it looks stunning.

Design
After looking around on the internet, my choice fell on this TV. And don't regret buying this one. Fast delivery for which my compliments and I was happy that my old TV was also taken. The legs were easy to attach and installation couldn't have been easier. Once installed, I ended up with a lot of setting options for image and sound. It's great to have the option to set everything up to your own liking. Beautiful picture, great sound. Ambilight is a nice addition. I read somewhere that the remote feels cheap and the TV is rickety. Absolutely disagree.
Is it all hosanna then? New. As a layman I have little understanding of the many setting options for the image quality, so I had to play around with the image settings in principle. My advice for those who can't figure it out: don't adjust. The default settings are really fine. And in the long run you will automatically notice what can still be fine-tuned (slightly more contrast, brightness up, more/less sharpness).
In addition, the Netflix app is really great, only it occasionally freezes in the sense that the TV can no longer be fully controlled. You can still switch to TV and back and then it works again. I think this has to do with Philips proprietary software. Android might have run a bit smoother, but I'm not a fan of that. Could possibly be fixed with an update.
These are small things that are part of the increasingly modern devices. In the past we only had a large picture tube and there was little to adjust. With the new devices it is occasionally a search. Not bad, just a fun challenge. Overall satisfied with my purchase.

For this price you have a very nice TV for the bedroom, in our case. Be amazed by all the options and features. Read some comments before about Amazon Prime what it didn't want to do but that works here as it should, without issues.
Image quality is of course not like my Q8, I notice that especially with Streaming. I can't help but notice because the TV is in the bedroom and is only used for Netflix and Amazon. But I think that can still be solved with some settings.
All in all you can't get much better for this money in my opinion!

Very nice TV. The sound is good and the picture is nice. The Ambilight provides a very nice viewing experience, especially if you let it color with what you are looking at. I do find the apps options a bit limited so I still need a chromecast but I personally don't find that a problem. I also like the 50 inch size, not too big, not too small, just looks very nice so I am very satisfied.
