According to our mobile phone expert
You can take razor-sharp photos with the different cameras in this device.
You can see all the details of your movies, series, and games on the razor-sharp 4K screen.
The oblong screen means you won't see any black borders during movies and makes it pleasant to multitask.
The Xperia 1 II is longer than you're used to from other smartphones.
On the 256GB storage memory of the Sony Xperia 1 II 256GB Black 5G, you have enough space for all your apps and files. The Xperia 1 II stands out thanks to the razor-sharp 6.5-inch 4K screen. You can see all the details of your game, movie, or series on it. With a 21:9 screen ratio, the device is more elongated than other smartphones. You have to get used to the controls, but you're able to watch movies with the same aspect ratio without black borders distracting you. The smartphone has 3 cameras. You use the wide-angle lens to capture large groups and buildings, while the telephoto lens allows you to zoom in up to 3 times without your photo becoming less sharp. The powerful processor can open the most demanding apps effortlessly. On top of that, you can smoothly switch between different apps with 8GB RAM. The 4000mAh battery lasts about a day without recharging. If you use a Power Delivery charger, your phone will be fully charged again in no time.

The screen is great. It doesn't have a higher refresh rate, but I personally don't miss this. The device does have Motion Blur, which should approach 90HZ. The sound sounds very good, especially with Dolby Atmos turned on. The cameras take fantastic photos and with the Photo Pro and Cinema Pro apps you can tweak everything to your taste. In addition, almost stock Android, super fast and 258GB storage. The price may seem high, but i.c.m. the per-order promotion a good deal!

The 21:9 screen format suits me very well right out of the box, smaller screen that is longer holds more relaxed and you can read more pieces of text without scrolling too much. And that stereo sound from that flat rectangular thing does give me a smile with watching netflix movie, it's seriously good this combo of image and sound.

As a user of a Sony Alpha digital mirrorless camera, I was looking for a smartphone that has a similar quality of lens and the ability to manually set just about everything to take pictures. And this smartphone certainly offers that!
The longer screen in 4K quality is great for scrolling (more info on a screen) or for viewing photos or movies in landscape.
Be careful if you expect automatic (software-corrected) photo quality, because that is a bit disappointing. I've had a Samsung Galaxy and Huawei Mate Pro that took "nicer" automatic photos via various modes and software corrections, but where you have little to no control over these settings and modes.
But if you are looking for a smartphone with good Zeiss lenses, with manual setting options, 20 FPS and the excellent autofocus (also with moving images) from Sony, you certainly have a good deal here. In addition, it will be possible to shoot in RAW format with one of the next software updates. Expect some photo editing afterwards, but the final result will be much more professional.
If you are less interested in that, but are looking for an ultra HD/4K screen that is longer and therefore shows more, this smartphone is also recommended ...
