According to our television expert
Thanks to the 100Hz refresh rate, fast-moving images are displayed smoothly.
Thanks to full array local dimming, the black parts of the image are really black.
The Android TV operating system combines live television, apps, and internet in a clear overview.
The TV doesn't have a rotatable stand to turn it toward your viewing position.
With the Sony KD-85XH9096, you'll enjoy a true-to-life image reproduction. The Sony Triluminos image technique and HDR support of this TV provide a wide color palette. This means you can see every subtle difference in color, for example in blue skies or fields of grass. This 4K TV has a refresh rate of 100Hz, so you won't miss any rapid movements in the image during an action movie or sports match, for example. Thanks to the Full Array backlight, you can view images with a deep black display and high contrast. Black parts of the image are really black. You can connect the TV to the internet via WiFi to access the Android smart platform. You'll have a clear menu with apps such as Netflix and YouTube. This way, you can easily stream your favorite movies, series, and videos.

As far as I'm concerned, the alternative to OLED in this price range. Very good black levels (not the infinite contrast of OLED of course) and beautiful colors! Android TV works very smoothly and there is no shortage of HDMI ports, with the latest firmware update also equipped with 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. The Sony motion processing is one of the better and it shows, very nice smooth images...even with most of the artificial bells and whistles turned off. Note: This TV has a fairly wide base, so make sure it fits on the furniture. In addition, it does not have the very best anti-reflection coating, in a room with many windows and direct (sun) light, reflections can become annoying.

Because I want to switch to the new generation of console(s) (PS5/XBOX), I was looking around for an upgrade from my previous TV (Sony 4K, 50Hz, no HDR) and came across this one. After it became known that it also supports HDMI 2.1, I was convinced. The order and delivery went very smoothly, ordered Friday evening and delivered Saturday morning! Unpacking and installing was also very simple. The Android version that runs on Sony TVs has received a serious upgrade, nice and smooth and clear. The advantage of Android is that you can set your main screen yourself. You can put the apps in the order you like or hide them if you don't use them. The Google PlayStore gives you access to even more apps if you miss them.
The image is fantastic! Especially if you select a film on Netflix with Dolby Vision, the colors will shine. When you start playing a game, it automatically switches to game mode so that you don't have any input lag. Here I had to adjust the colors because they are a bit faded by default. The image of the TV channels (Ziggo) are not in 4K but are transmitted in 1080i. There I noticed no difference with my previous TV.
The sound is a bit on the thin side, but that makes sense with such a thin TV. That is why I had already purchased a soundbar that is immediately recognized via eARC. The combination Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos is highly recommended!
For me this was the perfect upgrade and I am very happy with my choice. I also had an OLED in mind, but I think this LED is certainly not inferior to the OLED TVs that are currently on the market.

Very nice 4K television, I am very impressed with the image quality of this Sony. The Black values are very impressive. Hell sometimes seems like the TV is just off, but it isn't. Thanks to the X-tended Dynamic Range and the Full Array LED technology, which ensures that the LEDs can be turned off individually, the image is impressively clear.
The ease of use with which the TV can be operated and the speed with which the apps are opened is perfect, no delay when zapping or opening streaming services.
The remote control is bluetooth so you don't have to be a sharp shooter anymore, or if the dog or children stand in front of the TV, you can still just pause the start of the F1 so you don't miss anything.
I have a PS4 myself and the experience of the games is very intense with this TV, the sound can be heard from all sides through Acoustic Multi-Audio, so the enemy can be spotted in time. :)
