According to our HiFi speaker expert
The Klipsch The Fives speaker set is the right fit for you if you're looking for high-quality speakers with multiple connection options. Connect the speakers to your TV via an HDMI ARC cable. This way, you improve the sound of your television without a receiver or soundbar. You stream music wirelessly via Bluetooth, so can easily put on your favorite Spotify playlist. Thanks to the 24 bit/192kHz resolution, you won't miss a single detail when you listen to music. You hear the music exactly like the artist meant it to sound. The speakers have a horn that distributes the sound waves to every corner of the room. That means the sound is clearly audible, no matter where you sit.

Do not expect straight, honest reference speakers. These speakers sound 'good' and are a super good hi-fi alternative to a soundbar. Although the tuning also seems to be based on an extra subwoofer (not included), with a connected sub you have a little more control over the lows, it seems. Haven't been able to test that yet. But as long as you don't place the speakers in the corners of a room, you can avoid standing waves. Or you can place a little foam in the bass port of the speaker in the corner for a more balanced sound. They are well tuned for both film and music. A good balance has been found. They look beautiful. The connectivity options are lavish, although unfortunately they lack an Ethernet or WiFi connection. The only downside is that I already switched on the TV twice, and the speakers did not turn on because I had them on another input (such as bluetooth) when I turned them off. Then the speaker does not seem to 'listen' to the hdmi arc input. The cork base is also very nice (not for acoustic separation, but does prevent scratches)

I come from a Sonos Playbase, but I was annoyed by the sometimes shrill tones of the speaker. Opted for a little more quality.
I tested the speakers in two scenarios. 1 as desktop computer speakers and 2 as TV speakers.
As a desk speaker I found them inconvenient because if you watch YouTube, then turn on a Spotify song, then open Netflix or start a game, the sound level differs quite a bit. So you keep adjusting, which is quite annoying. I don't have this problem with cheaper speakers. They don't have that range and detail, so I notice the volume difference a lot less.
As a TV speaker, especially for movies, these speakers are phenomenal. You are completely sucked into the movie. The low tones come out well, the middle and high also work well. It really is like being there. The clarity of the sound is a factor of 10 compared to the Sonos. The action sounds in, for example, a movie like Superman is cinema quality or even better in my opinion.
To play pure music with it, they do well on focal songs, classical and jazz. I notice that when you listen to electronics or techno, the low tones are too strong. This is where Klipsch comes in with an EQ app update. This has yet to be released.
What can help is connecting an external sub so that the speaker set automatically does the high and mid through the speakers and the low tones through the sub. I'm going to try that myself in the long run; but for now I play music at a slightly lower volume to make sure the bass doesn't take over. What also helps is to put a sock in the port on the back of the speaker, but that is a shame.
I'm going to buy two more nice stands to get the tweeters at ear height and then I expect them to last about 10 years.
Would I buy them again? Secure. But the EQ app is necessary, and it will come.
*I don't know if I'm allowed to mention sonos in my review, if not, change to Soundbar.

Amazing build quality, very versatile with all required / possible inputs and outputs including Sub. Sound, while still amazing to most ears, more emphasis on Low frequencies (especially with Dynamic Bass on) and high frequencies are a little toned-down. The mid on the other hand is as good as it gets, with clarity and soothing to the ears. I would recommend and am sure this speaker suits most users and most purposes. Owning this speaker makes you proud.
