According to our mirrorless camera expert
With the Nikon Z5 + 24-50mm f/4-6.3 + FTZ Adapter, you can easily make the switch to a full frame mirrorless camera. The FTZ Adapter allows you to keep using your Nikon SLR camera. Thanks to the large 24.3-megapixel sensor, you can take clear photos in different light situations. Both the camera body and lens design are compact and lightweight, making it ideal for traveling. The body also has an ergonomic grip for a firm hold. The 24-50mm zoom range of the lens is suitable for photographing landscapes as well as portraits. This makes the lens versatile in use.
Fast focusThe hybrid AF focusing system has 273 focus points that allow you to accurately focus on your subject. These focus points cover the entire width of the image. In addition, the system has eye detection, which is useful for photographing people and animals. And thanks to the fast operation of the focusing system, you can record smooth video images and your photos are sharp.
User-friendly controlsThe camera has a tiltable touchscreen which allows you to easily adjust the settings, even when recording vlogs. In addition, the lens has an adjustable focus ring. You can assign other functions to this, such as aperture, shutter speed, or ISO control. This makes it even easier to operate the camera. Did you sometimes find yourself with a full memory card? This doesn't happen as quickly with this camera, thanks to the double memory card slot.

I've been using the Nikon Z5 for several months now. This summer I was initially very satisfied with the device. I took it out to sea for a week and took some really beautiful pictures of the daughter. But I noticed then that the autofocus was certainly not always correct, and the sharpness was not always ideal. Switching to manual focus point selection is difficult and requires a few clicks each time. So if the camera picks the wrong point, it's often too late. But outside with enough light I did find a way to work around this. Once inside, however, it runs much less. Even with enough light indoors, he more often than not finds the face, unless the subject is really looking into the lens (and even then it often takes a while...). So I personally wouldn't recommend it, and look elsewhere. Personally, I would rather go for a Sony a7iii, which I was recently allowed to try out. Autofocus is really faster, and switching to manually choosing a point is also smoother in my opinion.

It's a good camera. The price is good for a full frame camera. It is heavier than an SLR camera (D3300) but it fits nicely in my hands.
