According to our smart light expert
Set up each panel in a different color or create a pattern with the panels.
You operate the LED panels directly via your smartphone, so you don't need a bridge.
The hexagonal panels are more suitable for making pixel art than the square panels.
You need a stable WiFi network to control the lights.
Create illuminated color mosaics or pixel art on your wall with the Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagons Starter Kit. Attach this set of 9 hexagonal LED panels to the wall or ceiling and set each panel separately to your favorite color. Thanks to the hexagonal shape, you make more elaborate pixel art with these panels. Use the Shapes Hexagons as colorful decoration or as mood lighting, for example. You can create different scenes. With one press of a button, you can set soft lighting for in the evening, or wake up to a brightly lit home in the morning. The Nanoleaf set is suitable for Google Assistant, Alexa, and Apple HomeKit. That means you can also operate the light panels with voice commands.
Looks nice, good quality and app is extensive in which you can choose between existing patterns, create your own pattern or download community patterns.
Downside really is that you should expect better quality lighting at a premium price. The lighting is not uniform, which is certainly clearly visible at a lower light setting. Also all corners are not lit, making it more of a round lighting than a hexagonal lighting.
