According to our alarm system expert
When the alarm system detects movement, you receive a notification on your smartphone via the Ring app.
The back-up battery for the system lasts 24 hours after a power failure.
You can connect the alarm system to Amazon Alexa.
This package doesn't include a security camera, so you can instantly see what happens in your home.
You need a stable WiFi network to make optimal use of the alarm system.
The Ring Alarm Security Set is a 5-piece alarm system that protects your house in a smart way. Set up the base station, pair all of the sensors, and connect the system to the Ring app on your phone. You'll get notifications via the app if one of the sensors goes off. The system has a back-up battery that lasts 24 hours, so it keeps working even if the power is out. In addition, you can use the optional mobile back-up when the WiFi doesn't work either. The package has a base station, a control panel, a contact sensor, a motion detector, and a signal amplifier. You can easily expand the system with extra sensors. You can also connect additional Ring devices in your home, such as security camera or the Ring doorbell.
Note: you need a Ring Protect Plus subscription for assisted security. This costs € 10 per month after the 30-day trial period.
Really a very good product

It is a very easy to install system, everything speaks for itself and the app guides you through the linking of the different parts. The alarm is easy to control and because of the SIM card it also works when the internet is off (already experienced it myself), for this you have to take out the Protect Plus subscription. In terms of range, I have had no problems, the sensors in the attic also connect directly. What I find very useful is that there is also a speaker in the keypad / control panel that sounds the alarm. So when you put this in your bedroom you are guaranteed to wake up :-). In terms of negatives, I only have two things; the app is sometimes a bit slow loading the control panel (switching on/off), because of this the alarm went off despite the arrival delay :)... Furthermore, I hope that Ring will invest in making more out of the box integrations with other smart home systems or with IFTTT.. I would like to connect my Hue lamps to the alarm and use my sonos as an extra alarm speaker.
