I use this player to listen to my CD collection through headphones. I could then expand to more components later if necessary. The sound quality is very nice. A lot of detail for me, but not sterile. Very nice that the mechanical parts are so quiet. I think the only drawback is that the volume of the headphone output cannot be adjusted via the remote control, but only via the physical rotary knob on the device.
