According to our soundbar expert
Thanks to the deep bass of the included subwoofer, you can listen to a room-filling sound.
When it comes to design, the soundbar is a good match for a Philips 8000 series television.
When you connect the soundbar with an HDMI cable, you can control it with your TV remote.
You have to purchase a HDMI cable yourself to connect the soundbar to the TV.
With the Philips TAB8405 / Philips TAB8505, you enjoy a deep bass with your favorite movies and series. When it comes to design, the soundbar is a good match for televisions from the 8000 series from Philips. The included wireless subwoofer provides your favorite music and movies with a deep and rich bass. This way, an explosion in a movie will sound extra lifelike. Do you want to control the soundbar with your television remote? Connect the soundbar via the HDMI ARC connector. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI connector, you connect it via the optical connector. The soundbar includes a remote that you control it with.

In itself a great soundbar, as long as you don't use it for watching TV. Via the Philips website, this soundbar was described as 'corresponding' to a Philips The One PUS8535, a bit strange since the TV is gray and the soundbar is black, but in appearance it is certainly a good combination. Only problem is that the soundbar plays the sound later than the TV. You can set a delay of the sound via the 1 of the 2 apps that you have to download on your mobile, but you cannot bring the sound forward in time. You can delay between 0 and 0.2 sec, but I think I should have it at about -0.15, but that is not possible. Very annoying when you watch people talking on TV. After about 4 months it is now slowly getting used to it. If the soundbar has been disconnected from the power, you have to reset the WiFi every time, it cannot remember this. There are also 2 apps that you should use, 'PS fine tune' and 'Philips Sound'. These apps don't work great, and they seem to be from 2010 and have never been updated since. It will be nice if they can put this together in 1. You can definitely buy better soundbars for this money!!

Great sound bar! I bought it because the reviews were very positive and the soundbar seemed to fit my TV well. That's right. With me it stands in front of the 50PUS7304 (exactly the same model as the 50PUS7354 in one of the reviews), and the soundbar just blocks the bottom row of pixels. Not very disturbing. The sound is good for this price range, and even Dolby Atmos is supported. Only as a codec then, because certainly don't expect a 100% accurate surround experience. The 2.1 channels just aren't enough for that. Also great for playing music and watching a movie. The 2 HDMI inputs are also handy, so you get 1 extra free HDMI port to connect things to. And the supplied subwoofer also works well. Party!
