According to our pro audio mixer expert
You have a lot of control over the dynamics and sound of your recordings, thanks to the compressor and 3-band equalizer.
Thanks to the Onyx preamps, you can record loud high-quality audio with a microphone.
The combination of the 24-bit/192kHz audio interface and your computer allows you to record audio in high resolution.
You can't send the individual channels to a subgroup.
The included recording software Pro Tools First is a demo version.
The Mackie PROFX10V3 is an analog 10-channel mixer for bands, live performances, speeches, home studios, and content creators, like streamers or podcast makers. You'll have a lot of control over the dynamics and sound of your recording thanks to the compressor and 3-band equalizer. With the compressor, you can keep your volume within limits and with the equalizer, you can remove unwanted frequencies. Thanks to the Onyx preamps, you can record audio in high quality with a microphone. Because of the headroom, the preamps don't overload when you record loud sounds. Thanks to this, the sound quality stays intact. The mixer has a 24-bit/192kHz audio interface. As a result, you can record audio in high resolution. With the 24 built-in effects, you can edit the recordings and add an echo, for example.
Ordered a Yamaha mixer for this after good reviews, here the effect controller quickly broke down and eventually the USB connection also fell out. Sound from PC via USB was also much less of quality than from this mackie. So far very happy with this mixing console for use in my home studio.

I bought it to experiment with recordings. Vocals and guitar. Sound over speakers was a bit of a drama with the Mac. After some searching on YouTube, I found out that I had to set the monitors to channel 3+4. Not on Mackie's website. Took me some time to figure that out. On a Windows machine, after installing a driver, I think it will go smoothly. Maybe I'll try that again soon.
