According to our soundbar expert
Thanks to the rear speakers and subwoofer, you can listen to a real surround sound.
Dolby Atmos sends effects to your listening position via the ceiling, so it sounds extra spatial.
Add the soundbar to your LG multi-room system and stream music through your entire home.
An HDMI cable isn't included.
– The sound from the speakers and the subwoofer only works when you manually set the surround sound via the settings, otherwise the sound will only come from the soundbar. Also, by default, the volume of the subwoofer is set to its lowest and you must also manually set it to a volume level of your choice.
– It is necessary to apply certain settings in the app and use the equalizer. If you don't do this, the standard sound is not so nice and a bit shrill. If you set it to your liking, then you have a top sound.

I have been in possession of this Soundbar for a few weeks now. The set is complete including a subwoofer and 2 rear speakers that are connected to the soundbar via WiFi. Installing was very easy. The set can be connected directly with the included optical audio cable. This again saves an HDMI port that remains free on the television. An HDMI eARC/ARC port is also available on both the soundbar and the television, so that connecting with an HDMI cable remains possible. An HDMI cable is not included. The soundbar also has 2 extra HDMI inputs and a USB port. After installation, the entire set is strikingly present. I use this in combination with my LGOLED65C16LA. This television has a low base. Placing the soundbar directly in front of the television is not successful, as the soundbar then extends above the bottom of the television. However, 4 brackets are included to mount the soundbar on the wall. The sub woofer is a large cabinet and the rectangular rear speakers are also rectangular and striking. Downloaded the app and it is in Dutch and very user-friendly. The main functions volume, mute on/off, input type and sound effect are directly available on the home screen. But this there are more functions that can be controlled via the app, such as the settings per speaker, Alexia connection and a night switch that reduces the sound intensity. In addition to the app, a remote control is also included. With this easy-to-use controls, all functions are also easy to operate. The power of the soundbar is, just like the size, considerable and the maximum volume is therefore more than necessary for a home installation. The sound is fine and even at full volume it remains at this level. The size of the different boxes clearly has a positive effect on the sound quality. Personally, I do miss the low tones. This despite the separate subwoofer with the woofer level at maximum and the choice of Bass Blast as the sound effect. The link to the television in combination with the Dolby Atmos, Surround and Cinema settings creates expectations about the sound quality of films. This is a setback with other experiences. The rear speakers are a few meters behind my seat and even with these at maximum relative to the soundbar, they are insufficiently audible and I miss the cinema experience in terms of sound tremors.

We have been able to test the LG DSP11RA for several weeks. Connecting to our television was very easy and also calibrating to give full sound in our living room. Music is really an experience. We have also connected it to our google system and it plays very nicely with our speakers in the house when we play music via google. In terms of Dolby atmos, we were not able to test it optimally because we could not find a film that supported this. The subwoofer does not give any vibrations and this is very nice for your neighbors if you live in a flat like us. The rear speakers provide an extra addition to your sound experience, even when watching a regular TV series. The renewed al sound pro adapts very nicely to what you are watching or listening to. It is clear that in terms of sound LG and Meridian are a match made in heaven. It is a very large soundbar that you have under your television. We don't have a long wall to which the television is attached, so it sticks out. But this is not disturbing, but something to consider when purchasing. But otherwise a super nice soundbar and subwoofer with speakers that are certainly worth the money.
