According to our smartwatch expert
You can store downloaded maps on the watch itself.
Keep track of your efforts and prevent overexertion with Real-Time Stamina.
You can easily leave your wallet at home, because you can make contactless payments with your watch via Garmin Pay.
The watch case of this smartwatch is relatively thick, so it protrudes slightly above your wrist.
You can't charge this smartwatch via solar power like the Garmin Fenix 7S Solar.
With the Garmin Fenix 7S Silver/Gray 42mm, you get a watch for the sports enthusiast. You can accurately measure your exercise performances with this watch. The Real-Time Stamina function measures your efforts. That way, you get insight in your endurance and you prevent overexertion during an activity. On the 16GB storage, you can store songs and maps. The sports watch can even withstand extreme conditions, like great heights or extreme cold. With the Garmin Fenix 7S, you can also measure your stress level, water intake, steps, and track your sleep. You don't have to worry about your battery running out of power while working out or hiking, because the smartwatch lasts up to 11 days in smartwatch mode.
This watch is recommended for a 15 to 17cm wrist circumference.

The Garmin Fenix 7S has everything I expect from a sports watch, because the watch has a lot of sports and health functions. In addition, I also receive my messages on it, which I read on the OLED screen.
Battery and solar function When I turned on the watch, I immediately saw the battery life at the bottom left: 11 days! I've been testing it for a week now and the battery really does last that long. This while I do use all the functions I want. The sun has not shone much in the meantime, so my battery life has not been extended much. I did see that the Garmin immediately noticed when there were some rays of the sun. I saw this reflected in the 'solar intensity' function.
Use watch I'm super happy with the touchscreen, so you can scroll through the Fenix quickly. I did have to get used to all the buttons and what they do exactly. But when you realize this, you can navigate through your watch even faster. You connect your watch to the Garmin Connect App on your smartphone. Here I have adjusted exactly what I want to see on the watch. So I personalize it to my use. I had to get used to the screen, this is not as bright as my own smartphone screen.
Health measurements The health measurements are very accurate in my opinion. For example, I had had a bad night's sleep and that was reflected in the sleep report. I also saw this in the Body Battery function: I was not fully charged. This gave me the confirmation that it was better to take it easy and go to bed early instead of working out.
Sports Features The Garmin Fenix 7 has a lot of sport profiles. Too much for me, since I mostly go to the gym and don't do much outdoor sports. I thought it was a pity that it does not automatically recognize that you are working out and start a sports profile. So you have to turn it on yourself. You will see your training reflected in your intensity minutes, heart rate and calories burned.
Extension of my phone I put Spotify on the Fenix 7. Unfortunately, you can't play everything directly from your watch. You must first download lists in your app and put them on your watch. I am very happy with this: this way I can exercise with music without having to carry my smartphone with me. I also receive my messages, app notifications and calendar notifications on the Garmin Fenix 7S.
Note: I tested the Garmin Fenix 7S Solar. The Garmin Fenix 7 models are broadly similar, they have differences such as the solar function or a flashlight.

Have switched from an Apple Watch to this Fenix 7 and am very happy with it. You have very nice insights into your activities, in the beginning you have to look for how everything works, but once you have mastered it it is a top watch!!!!

After disappointing fenix 7, it is much too big and thick, opted for the finix 7s. It is a good size for daily use Usage. Is the most extensive sports watch in the Garmin series, expensive but well worth the money. I switched From venu 2 and definitely don't regret this.
