According to our solid state drive (SSD) expert
This version of the SSD card has a heatsink to prevent overheating.
The 980 Pro has a maximum read speed of 7000MB/s, so you can start your computer and applications at lightning speed.
This Samsung SSD is also suitable for use in a PlayStation 5.
Due to the M key, this M.2 SSD doesn't fit in every motherboard.
Note: this M.2 SSD has a PCI Express (NVMe) 4.0 interface and will only work if your system supports PCIe/NVMe 4.0. Make sure to check this in the manual of your laptop or motherboard.
With the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD, you can transfer files at lightning speed. This version of the Samsung SSD 980 Pro has a heatsink for smart heat control to reduce the heat from the SSD card. As a result, demanding actions in gaming and data analysis load faster, so you can play more and don't have to wait as long. This M.2 SSD uses PCIe 4.0, which ensures a 7000MB/s maximum read speed. As a result, your PC boots quickly, your files open in a flash, and it takes less time to load your games. In addition, you can use this M.2 SSD in a PlayStation 5 as well. The 100MB/s write speed ensures that you download and transfer files 10 times faster with the 980 Pro than on a standard 2.5-inch SATA SSD. For example, you can store a 100GB game on your SSD in 30 seconds. Thanks to the 2000MB cache, you can open frequently used files even faster. The Samsung 980 Pro has a 1200TB TBW. So on average, you can write 1200TB of data before the SSD gives up. You receive a 5-year manufacturer's warranty from Samsung with this SSD.

As always, I bought an SSD from Coolblue because of the good service, attractive price and good communication. It concerns the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD with heatsink. However, just after purchase, let news become known of many copies of this that spontaneously break, as can be read here on the website of Tweakers: https://tweakers.net/nieuws/206236/samsung-raadt-aan-980-pro-ssds- update-to-bug-making-drives-read-only.html
The funny thing is that Coolblue couldn't possibly have known this for itself. As we can read everywhere now, it is very important to install the latest firmware version on this SSD as soon as possible: 5B2QGXA7. This can be done via https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/
The funny thing is that maybe there are people like me who buy this SSD for their PS5 and don't have a free NVMe M2 port on their PC or laptop. Then upgrading firmware is impossible. I think it is important for Coolblue to include this information with this model from now on and / or to contact Samsung, asking whether models that are now being delivered are now equipped with this new firmware (I have already done this myself and still waiting for an answer, if I can update this review with new information I will do so immediately).
That is why I have given reliability 2 stars for the time being and cannot recommend the product so far.

Great SSD for the PS5. It will be there in 10 minutes. Read speed is slightly lower than advertised, but fast enough to write and read data.
