According to our earbuds expert
Thanks to the Bone Conduction Technology, you can hear music and ambient noise.
PremiumPitch 2.0+ ensures optimal placement on the cheekbones, so you have less vibrations and a higher volume.
The earbuds are waterproof thanks to the IP67 certification, so you can use water to clean them when you're done exercising.
These earbuds are less suitable for people who wear glasses.
Note: Shokz does include a charging cable, but no charger. Use your current accessories, or purchase them separately.

Had a Sony wx1000xm3 headphones for this, the disadvantage is that these will sweat and you will no longer be comfortable with this after a while. Moreover, you are cut off from your environment and that can be annoying in certain cases. I know there is a position on the Sony that you can also hear the environment, but that is different. With the Shokz you can walk all day, works fine. You hardly notice you have it on. Phone calls are great, this is the first time I regret that the house phone doesn't work with bluetooth :-) Have doubted for a long time about this Openrun version or the Pro version. Finally decided to buy it, because of the better resistance to dust and moisture (IP value), lower price and a fraction lower weight compared to the Pro. The advantages that the Pro has were also less important to me.
All in all I am very satisfied.

In my search for suitable headphones or caps for cycling and in the gym, I came across the bone conduction system. After some research, Shokz seems to be a top brand in this and I came across the types "open run" and "open run pro". The differences between the two types are not very big. The "open run pro" has a slightly better bass and a battery that seems to last 2 hours longer (10 instead of 8 hours). On the other hand, the "open run" has a better IP classification than the "pro", namely IP67 instead of IP55, which means that the "open run" is waterproof and the "open run pro" is splash-proof. I decided to go for the €50 cheaper "open run".
My first impression was good. The "open run" was easy to connect, was immediately comfortable on my head and I certainly didn't like the sound. It doesn't have a lot of bass, but more than enough for me. When you turn it up a bit, you feel it vibrate slightly on the contact points on your head. During a walk you like it and you keep hearing the traffic around you. The same on the bike, but there is also the wind as you hear it when you have nothing on your ears. Listening to a podcast or audio book is therefore sometimes difficult to understand. I don't find this to be a nuisance with music.
While cycling I experience that the brace in my neck presses against my winter coat. I don't have this problem during a walk and this probably won't be a problem with another jacket without a hood. I couldn't fix this by putting something else on my head. Still a minus.
All in all a great product but less suitable for listening to podcasts or audio books in traffic.
