Not a problem for someone with a carpenter's eye, if you are not handy then this step in the assembly process can be a challenge. For just under 700,- peak, I would have expected an innovative solution such as pre-assembled nuts in the top. Or, for example, a mounting form to determine the position of the screw holes. Because you have to screw on the top, it is now a kind of one-time fixed, never loose solution. If you ever decide to move and the top has to be disassembled, the question is whether you will ever get it fixed again.
