It's nice to completely outsource the vacuuming with this robot vacuum cleaner. I am very satisfied with the suction power and the smartness of the robot. The installation is also simple and fast, you only have to purchase the virtual walls separately.
to install
First of all, I found the installation very user-friendly. When unpacking the box, there was a short step-by-step plan on paper on top. I followed this step-by-step plan and then I downloaded the app. In the app I was still guided with installing the WiFi and starting the first ride.
Create map
The robot can make a map of your house so that you can see exactly where it is, for example. My house is quite small and has a lot of furniture, so at first I was surprised that it hit everything. After the map is made, it goes a lot faster. I only found out after making the map that you can only define rooms by purchasing separate virtual walls. The threshold in my kitchen is high, so the robot can no longer get out of the kitchen. So I used a box as a temporary solution. I put this in front of the entrance to the kitchen, so the robot couldn't get through the entrance.
empty station
With the push of a button, you can have the dust container extracted in the emptying station. When the dust container is full, the robot does this automatically. Very nice, that takes the vacuuming completely off your hands. Before you have it vacuumed, you just have to empty the floor. A charging cable can become entangled in the suction nozzle. It would be a shame if he doesn't finish his round because of that and no one is home to turn it back on.
iRobot app
In the app you can also see how long the round lasted and how many square meters the area is. My house is 50 square meters and one storey. The robot vacuum cleaner takes 54 minutes to vacuum all rooms. Thanks to the side brush, it also takes all the dust along skirting boards. I was very surprised about that given its round shape. You can also set in the app that the robot vacuum cleaner starts vacuuming as soon as your location service leaves the house. You can of course also set a schedule with fixed times.
